The staff at this lodge are so friendly and caring (thank you to Justin, Crispin and Edouard as well as those whose names we didn't get). My wife was unwell when we arrived and they made an extra effort to ask how she was doing regularly and the chef sought to accommodate the limited diet she ended up sticking up to. We were in one of the larger rooms (Nyati) which has a really convenient sitting area, a balcony with fantastic scenery to enjoy and an outdoor shower that is an extra special, potentially unique experience. There are a number of steps from the main pathway to this room and I think many of the other rooms but there are usually (and always at night) golf buggies available with staff from the lodge to help to get around once you are up the steps. There are 25 rooms here but during our stay I think we saw only two other couples or groups per night which meant the atmosphere felt a little flat at times compared to how I imagine it would feel when full. One area I would suggest for improvement is that the lodge has hardly any up to date social media presence or reviews which meant some trepidation ahead of our arrival versus the build up of excitement we had with other lodges we stayed at on this trip who more regularly provided a snapshot of the experience we could look forward to. The food (referring to the regular offering rather than that adapted for my wife) is okay but I think it was possible to tell that some items were fresher than others. I guess that the relative under occupation does not help - the chef and waiting staff are fantastically friendly so it would be good for them to demonstrate that to a wider audience. Ultimately if you want a central/western Serengeti lodge with fantastic views and friendly staff then this would be a...
Read moreI don’t know from where to start, Mbali Mbali team was simply perfect from the team working in the main office to the driver, guides and the Lodge staff.
Mbali Mbali lodge is the perfect place to plan your Safari in Serengeti, we were offered an upgrade to the Honeymoon suite which is simply heaven on earth. The view from the suite is incredible, I’ve never seen a better view. This lodge was a part of our honeymoon and simply the best part of it.
Mbali Mbali planned for us Game Drives everyday with the great guide Adrian. We were lucky to see almost all kind of animals specially we were at the end of the wet season. I definitely recommend Mbali Mbali for everyone coming to visit Serengeti.
Let me speak about the staff and their hospitality.
Starting from Zainab and Magdalena in the main office who helped us to plan everything before arrival which made our journey very smooth.
The lodge staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful and always asking if we needed anything. The next people made our stay simply fantastic. Special thanks to Ibrahim the main lodge manager Deo the rooms manager Leonard the restaurant manager, leo was here for us for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kitchen staff, Honestly I was surprised with the great level of the food specially in a such remote area. Adrian, our guide during the Game Drives, I can bet you no one knows Serengeti better than him, the amount of knowledge he knows about this place is fascinating. He was also very flexible with us in timings and what we wanted to do. He is the spotlight of our trip. Everyone we weren’t in direct contact with who made our trip unforgettable.

Read moreThe Soroi Serengeti is an amazing hotel. The staff are fantastic and show huge attention to detail and to a high quality of service, and the food was absolutely amazing. The room/cottage was beautiful with amazing furnishings and right on the hillside, so it had a wonderful view from the balcony (with an outdoor shower that we tried as one really could not have any more privacy than that while outdoors. Still felt odd, of course.) There are lots of nice areas to sit in the afternoon/evening, and there is a lovely infinity pool with a view over the Serengeti. Our waiter, Rama, was very attentive and provided great service. The waiter for the group on the other table (Ems?) was also very nice and offered to take photos of me when I was admiring the sunset on my own. He got some great shots. We chatted for a while and it was really interesting hearing about his family and his home town. The drivers who can take you to the cottage if you don't want to walk (it's not far, but can be very hot, an after dark one is not allowed to wander around on foot due to lions and other wildlife...) are are also very friendly and helpful.|This edge of the Serengeti does have tetse flies, which are prevalent on the drive up from the plains to the hotel but not within the hotel grounds. They weren't a problem as we saw none at all on the hilltop where the hotel is and on the drive up/down the guide just kept the windows and roof closed for the first few minutes. |The Soroi is a wonderful hotel, in fact the best we stayed in on our trip of Kenya and Tanzania, and we can thoroughly recommend the hotel and its wonderful staff and chef (really delicious food and...
