Definitely recommended (to avoid)
We paid around 900 USD for 2 nights. The tent was very nice, but this is as good as it gets. Besides that, there was no electricity in the second morning and the breakfast was the worst that I have seen in my life for such a price. Instant coffee and barely anything that could be eaten - everything was overdosed with sugar. To add to the experience hundreds of bees were flying all over the place while you were eating, while some of them landed on your plate to eat with you. We had made very clear that we could not have fried food (both in writing and orally). Nonetheless, they decided to prepare 2 lunch boxes where everything was deep fried, except the banana and the juice. To conclude the great experience, when we left, they called us to state that we had not paid for 2 bottles of water that we got with dinner (worth 8 USD) - while, in case you don’t remember, we had paid them around 900 USD already. Read moreCute, clean, tented lodge. Bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows. No air conditioning, but they provided an electric fan in the tent. It gets cold at night, so the electric fan was sufficient. Ample electric outlets for charging devices. Spacious and very clean bathroom. Double sink with separate shower and toilet area. Equipped with a hair dryer. The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming! Great service! The moment we arrived, we were greeted with a clean towel and a cold drink. Someone was always available to help.
For breakfast, they served us a big breakfast, bacon , pancakes or toast , sweet potatoes, or taro and made to order eggs or omelet, fruits, coffee, chocolate or tea etc... Food during dinner was also very delicious, balanced, and freshly made. I can't say anything negative...
Read moreMy partner and I had an amazing time at Kifaru. We only spent the one night but what a special night it was. The tents overlook the plains of the Serengeti and we were greeted with an amazing sunset as we arrived.
The tents themselves have everything you could want/need for a night in the Serengeti.
The staff were so welcoming and helpful.
We had a bush dinner (extra cost) complete with a campfire and a staff member watching out for any unwelcome animal intruders! This was the setting where I proposed to my partner. I honestly don’t think I could have chosen a better spot to make it happen. It’s a moment we will never forget.
A special thank you to Eva in the head office who helped organise all the finer details of the proposal via email.
Would definitely return if...
