Serengeti Luxury Retreat is true by its name - a sure and lasting ultra luxury experience. Clean and well maintained tents, delectable and detailed meals, experienced and knowledgeable rangers and the staff - more than welcomingly accommodating. Such sweet people with big hearts and such warm gestures.
Right from the time of enquiry managed by Shedreck - everything was curated so well. Our tickets directly to Seronera air strip and answering all our untimely questions and giving us all details beforehand.
Our stay was just beyond words. We travel a lot, also we have done many game drives in africa and outside and undoubtedly this was the best experience we had.
The camp is deep in the wilderness. is so clean and well maintained. Itâs like your own space offering complete seclusion with your loved ones by your side. No filters between you and nature. The location of the camp is so apt - we even had a pride of lions around our camp and could hear the roars all night - elevating our wilderness experience to new levels. The staff and the local Masai made us feel safe despite.
We always plan our game drive trips during the rainy months - This time of the year is lovely with less tourists so animals roam around freely - this is jus after the calving season so we get a chance to see the wild life in its full + the rainy days form a perfect backdrop to our entire experience. We spotted the Big 4 - rhino being an exception as rhinos are in a conserved area in Serengeti. We were guided by the most experienced rangers from Oscar travels who had good knowledge and were able to explain more - for our curious selves and our 10yr old.
Our meals were 6 course - oh so awesome! Detailed and highly delectable, tasty and oh the presentation!
The camp is eco conscious - they generate energy thru renewable sources for water heating etc. no telephone cables have been laid - we used the old style walkie talkies to communicate with the staff.
The staff at the camp were so hospitable - the team is so passionate, each one of them invested in making sure our every need big and small is attended to and in no time - ready to do anything to make us comfortable.
Early risers we are, we fancied seeing sunrise every morning and so the team would open up our tents at 5am on chilly mornings and bring us hot bags to keep up with the cold winds. One of the days we were too tired and asked for food to be delivered to the tent and viola! They set up the entire table in the front porch of our tent and wow so beautiful and thoughtful. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and oh! they made it ever so special - the boma music and dancing and the warmth each person shared. And a lovely memento which I will treasure for life.
Every little detail was taken care of - simple things like knowing our names even before we checked in and they had a cute welcome song and dance prepared for our arrival. Every time we got back from the drives, they would say ânow you are homeâ - definitely a safe haven. Our game drive clothes were laundried every day. They have so much more to offer Boma Dinners, Bon fires, Sun downers, even a Masai style wedding vow exchange.
We were pampered thoroughly and saying bye to this place was hard. We could only say âuntil next timeâ - while we sang and danced to the Boma tunes one last time.
The chef was so kind to pack us off with heavy lunch baskets it kept us satiated for the whole day - with such cute packaging.
Itâs a 10 âď¸ on a rating board of 5. I highly recommend evrybody to...
Read moreTitle: Terrible Experience at Serengeti Luxury Lodge â Not Worth the Price
As a luxury travel curator and owner of Ashoka Dream Holidays (Mumbai), I had high expectations from Serengeti Luxury Lodge, especially given the $1,200+ per night price tag. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences Iâve ever had. ⢠The rooms are fancy and glamorous, but thatâs where it ends. ⢠The lodge has only 4 tents, and we were the only guests during our stay, yet the service was non-existent. ⢠Over 3 days, we didnât get a single fulfilling meal. Breakfast was a thin omelet (gone in 2 bites) and dry pancakes with no maple syrup, peanut butter, or Nutellaâalways âout of stock.â No bread, toast, or even milk for muesli. Coffee took forever to arrive. ⢠When we asked for help with our bags during checkout, we had to call 6-8 times before anyone responded. ⢠No hot water or proper shower pressure in the mornings. ⢠$800 and âš5,000 were stolen from our haversack in the room. Our belongings were moved, and to make matters worse, there was no safe provided in the rooms. ⢠Meals were tiny and insufficientâjust a small main course with no dessert, only some fruit. Even simple requests like avocado toast were met with âwe donât have stock.â We were left hungry after every meal. ⢠The owner seemed completely unaware of what was happening at the property.
For the premium price they charge, this experience was appalling. Do not book Serengeti Luxury Lodge. I will never recommend this property to any of my clients or...
Read moreSuperb! Thatâs the one word that perfectly describes my experience at this camp.||This is a truly memorable destination. Iâll admit, I was skeptical when I saw the word luxury in its nameâbut it genuinely lives up to it, especially considering itâs a tented camp in the middle of the Serengeti.||From the very first moment, the welcome was exceptionalâclassy, warm, friendly, and even funny. Daniel, the manager, leads a remarkable team that is fully devoted to your well-being. ||The camp itself is beautifully designed, with every detail thoughtfully considered in both the public areas and the rooms.||The service is outstanding, with staff going above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The food is very good, clearly aiming for high-end cuisineâthough it still has a little way to go before matching European fine dining.||We stayed in the family room, which was fantastic: two spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a cozy living room, a terrace with loungers, and even a private pool overlooking the breathtaking Serengeti. WiFi is available throughout the camp, including the rooms, which was a pleasant surprise.||Staying here truly feels like the ultimate luxury in the heart of the Serengeti. Daniel and his team will do everything possible to make your stay unforgettable. One tip: if youâre only staying for one night, arrive before 5 pm to make the most...
