Wonderful view, staff friendly & helpful. However, the rooms are not up to the standard that I was expecting. I will start with the positives 1st. We stayed here for 2 nights in September of 2022. The showers are outside your room, which I found quite exhilarating. The bed was very comfortable, the views are stunning & the staff are friendly & helpful. However, there was no socket electricity in the rooms at all. Even if it had electric, the socket was in the bathroom by the sink. The WiFi only existed in the main building & was not the best. The lock on your door was a padlock. The room was more like a glorified tent with canvas walls. The sheet on the bed had a hole in it. There was masking tape holding the glass in the room door. The deck chairs on the veranda were dirty & stained. The food buffet style. It was OK but very few options. The location itself, although with stunning views is about a 30 minute drive outside the Serengeti park on a considerably rough & bumpy road. If you're on a budget, then this would probably be for you but in my opinion, considering how much we paid & by the standard of the other accommodation we stayed at, the Serengeti Simba Lodge just came no where near what I was expecting.

Our favourite Lodge in Serengeti (we only saw 2 😅). Food was divine. Sunset views were amazing from the pool area, with wide sweeping views of the Serengeti underneath and mountains far away. The infinity pool over the Serengeti was amazing and we swam for a couple of hours before sunset while the sun was shining. Cocktails are expensive at 8$-12$ each but everything ha sto be driven from far away (still a bit expensive) but throughly enjoyed having a drink in the pool. The rooms were very cosy with hot water shower and a terrace overlooking a wide plain full of zebras. Magical. We woke up to the sounds of monkeys playing in the terrace on the morning! Did I mention that food was amazing?! Staff are really attentive and a guard accompanies you after dark every time you move outside of your room or main area. On the grounds of the lodge we saw a gazelle and monkeys.

Simba Portfolio operates a collection of lodges in Tanzania, including Serengeti Simba Lodge, Karatu Simba Lodge, and Tarangire Simba Lodge. These lodges are renowned for their exceptional locations, attentive staff, and immersive wildlife experiences. Serengeti Simba Lodge Perched atop a hill with expansive views of the Serengeti plains, Serengeti Simba Lodge offers guests a unique safari experience. Guests frequently praise the breathtaking vistas, especially during sunrise and sunset. The lodge’s proximity to wildlife means guests often hear the sounds of elephants, lions, and hyenas at night, enhancing the authentic safari ambiance. The staff’s dedication to guest comfort and the quality of the cuisine are also commonly highlighted. One reviewer noted the “excellent service from all the staff” and described the experience as “unforgettable.”

We stayed at the Serengeti Simba Lodge for two nights during our honeymoon safari, and what an amazing stay it was! The staff here are incredible, they made us feel so special and so welcome from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the Rhino lodge which has the most beautiful views over the Serengeti. We had such lovely touches in our room for our honeymoon, a bottle of champagne in the room, some mars bars in our bed after turn down and petals on the bed both mornings. The chef here is amazing and makes the most delicious food! On our first night there was a thunderstorm, and we were the only guests in the hotel, we were made to feel like royalty! The chef cooked us a beautiful 4 course meal and all the staff looked after us so well. We had a 4am pick up the next morning for our balloon ride, and the guard was waiting for us at our lodge to take us safely to reception. All the staff work so hard, the pool and communal areas are beautifully kept, the rooms are spotless, and the packed safari lunch was so delicious. This lodge is quite a drive out of the Serengeti, but it is worth it. The track to the hotel was tricky due to the weather causing lots of mud, but the experienced drivers get you there safely. Asante Sana to all of the staff at the Serengeti Simba Lodge, thank you for making our stay so special – we hope to...
