Adden Palace Hotel — Hotel in Kawekamo

This was a good place to stay and I would stay here again.

Pros: Very clean rooms which are large and comfortable with a lot of amenities. Great views of the lake and of Mwanza AC in rooms works very well Very helpful and quickly attentive staff. I repeatedly called for help with certain problems (see below), and they always were very prompt and helpful and patient. Very tasty food at the restaurant with huge portions. Waitresses were very prompt, helpful, and great at serving. Conference room was set up well for doing our training. The conference room also had AC. Convenient and clean washrooms for the conference hall. There is an elevator to the high floors for those with disabilities (or for anyone if you are tired and don't want to take the stairs).

Cons: The WIFI is very weak. In some rooms you can't even connect to it because you are too far away from the router. The WIFI was also at times so slow that I couldn't hardly even open my email. This needs attention and needs to be fixed otherwise people like me have difficulty doing my work. The water would often completely go out in my room, (and other customers' rooms) sometimes at very inconvenient times (with soapy hands or about to step into the shower). I would call and they would fix the problem quickly, but it was quite frustrating.

PROS:

Everyone was great at this hotel. From the reception to the restaurant employees, I felt welcome. The room I stayed in was a reasonable price and it was very nice for that price. There was hot water in the room, the AC was great and it worked perfectly. There were both English and Swahili language channels on the tv.

It also helped that they offered a complimentary hot breakfast buffet from 6 am to 10:30 am. It wasn't the best, but for the price of my room it was more than I could have hoped for.

Most importantly of all, this hotel is only a 5 minute taxi ride from Mwanza International Airport without any traffic. I doubt it could be more than 15 minutes with traffic. I will definitely be coming back here again. And I will also tell my friends to stay here.

CONS: There was a sign in the room that said the hotel offered complimentary pick up and drop off from the airport. I found out this was no longer the case when I stayed there on Nov. 27, 2021.

Also if the hotel moved up the checkout time to 11 am instead of 10 am, that would be perfect.

If not for these two minor issues, I would have given my hotel stay a 5 star rating. Keep up the good work, and I will be coming...
