Unfortunately, there aren't many places to stay in Kigoma. It's either here or the Hilltop Hotel that I've heard disappointing things about also. ||My husband, some colleagues, and I stayed here for 3 nights for a work trip. On the surface, it looks like a nice enough place. The setting is beautiful with lakefront views from the bar and most of the rooms. It has potential. ||However, the buildings have not been properly maintained, and they're falling apart. The pictures I'm sharing speak for themselves. While eating breakfast one morning, it began to rain and big chunks of the ceiling fell through just barely missing my colleague who was sitting by it. The walkways aren't properly drained so they flood and become very slippery when it rains. The table in our room was not put together - I reached for my shoes below it while brushing up against one of the legs, and the entire tabletop and all legs came crashing down. None of the legs had even been attached. ||Service is careless and not good. Yes, there are a few cracks and gaps in the rooms but as the location is so large I totally understand, that this is difficult to maintain without prices, skyrocketing even more. My room was rather on the smaller side but my nicely furnished and the beds is big. It contains a fridge, even a water cooker for people who love tea and of course, air conditioning. The food is fresh and delicious so I don’t need to waste a thought about my stomach being able to take it. The only thing, which was a bit of a challenge is the Wi-Fi, which is neither strong, stable, nor particularly fast, which is again result of the quite spacious nature of the hotel area. I only stayed for three days, because I couldn’t afford more, but these three days were a glimpse into paradise...
Read moreROOM: Tiny over priced rooms with really poor room service. You cann't even order room service as phones in the rooms do not work.
FOOD: Over priced food which is not of good standard or quality. You can't order what you want in the displayed menu, but rather you will only get whatever is available in the kitchen stock at that time. Heck, you can even miss your breakfast just because what they prepared is not enough (fail to understand their B&B concept)
In general I had a really terrible terrible terrible experience with this hotel. Can never return to...
