Every trekkers first camp site on Mt Kilimanjaro if you are taking the Lemosho route! This was my first night camping ever, first night in a tent, not a good night’s sleep. First day of hiking started late due to our bus breaking down, then terrible mud which we schlepped through for three hours. I was expecting a pleasant stroll through a nice simple path in the rain forest. I’ve never walked through 6 to 8 inches of wet mud around slippery boulders in my life. It had rained heavily the morning before our hike. What a mess. Made it to camp as it was getting dark! The Colobus monkeys started making very noises in the trees overhead at night, sounded like something out of Star Wars! Oish! Thank goodness for the portable toilet, my stomach was off this first night and the poor guy next to my tent was vomiting for several hours! Why am I doing this? I want...

It took us about four hours to get to camp from the first gate. So green the entire way and at camp. The first night was louder than most city nights, but the noise was monkeys, birds, and laughter from the crew!
