Nestled in the thick of the Rundugai Village, about 38 kms away from Moshi, Tanzania, this hot spring is like a hidden gem of an oasis in the savage, wild desert. The closest airport is the Kilimanjaro International Airport, about 25 kms away from Rundugai. As one heads along the African scrubland with acacia trees and baobabs along the way, towards the Kikuletwa Chemka Hotsprings, one sees out of nowhere, bushes and shrubs blanketing the Hotsprings. The road leading to the spring is rough and bumpy, nowhere giving the tiniest signs of a secret amazement. The water is a blend of blue and green, turquoise shades. At one end of the spring, where the water is shallow, there are doctor fishes that eat the dead skin off the feet. The other end of the spring leads through a narrow stretch of deep water into the open bay of pond, surrounded by palm and fig trees. The Kikuletwa or Chemka Hotsprings are called Hotsprings but the water is not really hot but rather warm and relaxing. There is a Tarzan swing for fun lovers to take a swing into the pond. Give the non uniform depths of the water, there are also lifebuoy rings and trained divers who help the visitors through the waters. The rings and diver helps cost a few shillings for their price. The place is a beautiful spot for a...

This is a hidden gem with a beautiful turquoise blue water from the springs. There is rope tied to a tree that you can use to swing and jump into the water.

Standing by the banks, fishes surround you to give you a good cleanse and a nice pedicure. It is quite ticklish, and doesn't hurt.

There is a nominal entrance fee to get into the park. There are a lot of vendors that will offer you food, chairs and tubes to use in the water for a reasonable charge.

The reason I'm giving 2 less stars, although its a beautiful natural site, there is not much done to protect it. Very crowded with lots of food vendors that has polluted the area. The food stalls are so congested right by the springs. No private change rooms. Could have been better managed and organized to make this beautiful place last forever in its natural state for generations to come to appreciate...

This place is just one of a kind that I have visited in Tanzania. The water is magical and super clean, the fish that eat dirt from your skin and other peaceful creatures living in the waters are just as friendly as the people around. Hard to navigate your way through if you don’t have a 4x4 vehicle as it’s a bit far from the main road and the road through is bumpy and stony. Anyone in Moshi or Arusha I recommend to go visit this hidden gem and get to swim in the magical waters as you get a free pedicure.
