Karanga River Lodge — Hotel in Kilimanjaro

We had the pleasure of staying in this hotel during a recent holiday in Tanzania.|Closest airport is Kilimanjaro Intl Airport, about 1hr by taxi (tip: ask the lodge to arrange a taxi to collect you at the airport).|We arrived late around 10:30pm but Agnes and the reception staff were there to greet us and even kept the kitchen open so we could have a late dinner! Many thanks!|Due to our limited time in Tanzania, we contacted the Lodge the day before arrival and asked if they could arrange 1 day hiking in Kilimanjaro NP at short notice, they arranged hotel pick up and a legendary mountain guide (he holds the world record for ascent and descent 14h 50m!).|Agnes also arranged a great waterfall hike and visit to a coffee plantation at short notice the following day.|Hotel is very modern and has all the necessary facilities.|Breakfast is excellent, served on the terrace next to the pool.|Rooms are spacious and well equipped.|Great view of the mountain on clear days.|Highly...

Luckily our Trekking Company accomodated us at this cosy and new place before and after climbing Mt. Kilimandscharo. Agnes and the staff of this Lodge are so courteous. For example they helped me cleaning all my stuff very Tanzania with clean clothes. Also the warm shower and the tasty food at breakfast and dinner are really worth mentioning. If you choose to stay there and you are in need of something like organizing a daytrip e.g. - just ask them, they will support you for sure.||||I will come back again during my next stay...

A hidden gem of a hotel. Just outside the town of moshi. So peaceful. The rooms were clean and spacious and each one looked out on to the garden and pool. The outdoor restaurant and bar was well stocked which was a pleasant surprise considering it was out of season. The staff were lovely. Very attentive and made us feel very welcome. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. ||Added bonus was a view of Kilimanjaro from the rooftop...
