Maktau Mountain Lodge — Hotel in Kilimanjaro

A group of 10 of us visited the Maktau Mountain Lodge in search of a touch of luxury...and we certainly got more than that! There were hot showers (our first in 6 weeks), beautiful rooms and food that was easily our most delicious meal in Tanzania. We were given an informative tour of the orphanage that is associated with Maktau Mountain Lodge and permitted to play games with the children if we wanted to. What a fantastic place. With the Kilimanjaro in the background, you can swim in a lovely pool, have a drink on the terrace, make beautiful walks or take a ride on the mountain bike. A visit to the Children's Center should not be missed. This is a wonderful piece of Tanzania. Thanks for the hospitality, all the good care, tips and the fantastic food. All of this is well worth the trip. Stay here for at least two nights....

A lovely stay for our family at Maktau. Janna was a fantastic host - going the extra mile over and again to accommodate our needs with little kids.
