If you’re considering staying at this lodge in Moshi—stop thinking and just go. It’s hard to put into words how special this place truly is. Surrounded by lush greenery, and with the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro often peeking through the clouds, the setting is nothing short of magical. Peaceful, serene, and completely immersed in nature—it’s the kind of place that instantly puts you at ease. But what really makes this lodge unforgettable isn’t just the landscape. It’s the people. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The staff are truly the heart and soul of this place. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality went far beyond anything we expected. Every single person we met—from reception to housekeeping to the kitchen—was warm, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about making guests feel at home. They made everything feel personal, never forced or rehearsed, just real and heartfelt. The service was outstanding. Always prompt, always with a smile, and always going the extra mile without being asked. Whether it was sharing stories about local culture, or simply checking in to make sure we were comfortable, the staff made every moment feel special. The food was another highlight—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every meal felt like a treat, and the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate any dietary needs or preferences. Everything—from the room comfort, to the peaceful environment, to the little touches that showed how much thought and care had gone into our stay—was better than we imagined. We came expecting a nice place to rest, and left with full hearts and memories we’ll treasure for a lifetime. This isn’t just a lodge. It’s an experience. And it’s one I can’t recommend highly enough.

I have rated “rooms” as 5 star because even though we camped the facilities were 5 star! Where can you camp and have modern bathrooms, lovely outdoor area, fabulous kitchen for our use, gorgeous fire pit, etc…. I could go on and on. The gardens are magnificent, Victoria certainly has green fingers. And I love her style. Everything is tastefully decorated. The service was excellent. Sia and her colleagues could not do enough for us. Emmanuel was our guide and took us to the waterfall, small scale coffee farm and sugarcane plantation. He was friendly, helpful, informative and made our excursions memorable. Thank you Emmanuel. Regarding access to the location please use google maps, the turning to the retreat is in town, not along some dirt road as indicated by Tracks4Africa. The last 700m or so is dirt but don’t be put off. The road is easy and what awaits you behind those gates is worth the drive. I good place to recharge and discover the wonders of Moshi and the area. Thank you to all for your kindness to us.

We've staid here for two night with our Camper and one night after having returned our Camper. Tulivu was by far the best Campsite I've experienced during my Camping times in Tansania, Australia, New Zealand and Germany. The whole Retreat is just wonderful, so lush, so green and beautifully desihmed, ! We really enjoyed our morning coffees taking a glimpse at Kilimanjaro, and our Dinners in the Banana Garden. Food tasted amazing and very inexpensive. Victoria, the manager, was also incredibly kind and organized a lot for us. The other employees were exactly similar, very enthusiastic and helpful! The toilet and showers for campers also remains the best I've ever seen - 5 Star Level! I have never seen a shower with so many settings. Everything worked like a charm!

A Tranquil Paradise at the Foot of Kilimanjaro – An Unforgettable Experience

My stay at Tulivu Kilimanjaro Retreat was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the serene landscape at the foot of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, this retreat offers an unparalleled blend of luxury, comfort, and nature.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their attention to detail, friendliness, and genuine care made me feel like a treasured guest.

The accommodations were stunning—each room beautifully designed with local touches that create a cozy yet luxurious atmosphere. Waking up to the breathtaking view of Kilimanjaro every morning was a dream come true. The surrounding gardens are lush and well-maintained, providing a peaceful escape where I could truly relax and reconnect with nature.

One of the highlights of my stay was the retreat's commitment to sustainability and supporting the local community. It's evident that Tulivu Kilimanjaro Retreat is not just a place to stay but a place that cares deeply about its environment and people. The retreat offers a variety of activities, including guided hikes, cultural tours, and even opportunities to engage with local artisans and farmers. These experiences were enriching and provided a deeper connection to the region.

The food was another standout feature. Every meal was a culinary delight, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients that celebrated the flavors of Tanzania. The chefs are incredibly talented, and each dish was a masterpiece in itself.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway, an adventure at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain, or a place to immerse yourself in the local culture, Tulivu Kilimanjaro Retreat is the perfect destination. My time here was rejuvenating and inspiring, and I left with cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

I highly recommend Tulivu Kilimanjaro Retreat to anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable experience. I can't...

My wife and I are travelling Tanzania for two weeks. We came from Kenya and were on our way to Arusha. We needed a place to stay to break the distance up a bit and we found this hidden gem 6km outside of Moshi Town. We ended up staying here for 3 nights. The staff: Victoria greeted us with a warm welcome and made always sure that we are doing well. Manny took us to all the nice day trips from here. He is very knowledgeable about the Town (him being from here and all the staff) and the surrounding places and up to date with Tanzanian news. We had a blast with him and he was there always for us and went out of his way to make sure we have what we needed. M.J and Sia was looking after us very well and were always a pleasure speaking to them and they had always a smile on their faces. Two very nice women. Fast WiFi as well. Ansdsuper safe. Camp ground is well looked after with a beautiful garden and you get fresh fruits from all the fruit trees on the premises. The a la carte food is really good and many local beer options. They are in the process of building a swimming pool too. And extending the camping grounds even more. They have also rooms available here. Very tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are so far the best we have seen, all modern, warm water and extremely clean. The camp kitchen is a nice touch as well. We recommend this place very highly. We had the best time here. Thanks to all the team making the fire at night for us and washing our 4x4. We definitely...
