I stayed at Weruweru River Lodge for two days, the place is an absolute gem and the perfect getaway for anyone seeking relaxation, adventure, and top-notch hospitality. From the moment you arrive, youāre greeted with the warmest welcome from the incredibly friendly and professional staff who go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and memorable. The owners are the epitome of hospitality, treating every guest like family and truly creating a āhome away from homeā atmosphere. The lodge boasts breathtaking views of nature, with lush greenery and a serene weruweru river just a short walk away. The highlight, however, is the stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro right from the room balconiesāa sight thatās simply magical, especially during sunrise and sunset. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed to blend comfort with a touch of nature. The dining experience is exceptional, offering delicious local and international cuisines that cater to all tastes, served with a smile in an idyllic setting. Whether youāre looking to relax by the river, explore Tanzaniaās incredible landscapes, or simply escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, Weruweru River Lodge is the ideal destination. Ā Ā Ā Read moreLoved the experience of the lodge. The Weaver birds in the trees provided a lovely aural experience.
The reception area is large and can be used for meetings.
The bar is undercover but outside, provides a pleasant experience for drinking Kilomanjaro beer. I did though have to show the barman how to make a Negroni. Thankfully Campari and Martini Rosso in stock.
The bedrooms are large with walk-in showers, outside relaxation area, in my case a balcony and a huge bed. The rooms have air conditioning, I never used this. Usual array of soaps etc provided in the bathroom.
A large restaurant for all meals. Breakfast is a buffet, lunch I did not try, but it seems many order and eat outside. Evening dinner may be in the restaurant, order from the menu, or outside with a buffet and lots of meat. The outside buffet was definitely a hit with our group.
Outside it can be so peaceful, no to very little traffic noise. The birds provide the background sounds.
There is WIFI. Adequate, but not fast. This is available around the bar area.
The hotel has backup power, and within a minute of a power cut the emergency generator was in action, providing a complete...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeru Weru River Lodge is a place with great potential, but the potential is not fully used due to their side business: weddings. We stayed at this lodge to relax before and after climbing the Kilimanjaro. The night before starting our climb there was a huge wedding party in the hotel garden that kept us awake. The party did stop after complaining about this and the manager apologized. He also promised not to host any other weddings in 2019.
When we came back after climbing to spend another day here to relax, we found out that there is also an opportunity to take wedding photos at this venue. This happens every Saturday from 3 - 7 pm. The manager indicated this will continue in 2019. For us this meant that a total of 5 couples entered the lodge to take pictures. In total there were more than 150 people involved in these photos shoots, while we were trying to relax at the swimming pool. For their wedding business they also have at least two dromedaries at their premises. The dromedaries are being hit when they don't 'behave'.
However, I still believe this lodge can offer a relaxing and quiet stay if the wedding parties and photo shoots would be...
