The Lahe Hotels — Hotel in Kirumba

Although the venue has potential to be nice, the rooms and facilities are very run down. It needs a big upgrade. TV had no power cable and nothing to connect cable to. None could be provided. The free wifi was non existent. I wish I had taken photos of the bathroom. The AC worked fine. ||We waited 3 hours for our dinner only to receive something that was inedible. The owner was there at the end and proceeded to degrade the 3 young boys who had attempted to cook our dinner, in front of us. It was very awkward. He blamed everyone and took no responsibility. Disrupted what was left of our dinner. At least he didn’t have the nerve to charge for it. ||We had paid for two nights but at dinner decided to cancel the second night. First we were told that it was no problem by reception but when the owner got word he said it could not be done. He was very rude, inexcusably unprofessional. I told him I would be writing a review he said go ahead. So I am. The two different receptionists we saw were very good and professional. The hotel will not survive under the management of the owner, Edmira. I strongly suggest no one stay here. ||The hotel is far from town, up some steep hills. No choice but to eat at the hotel. The pool is very nice but we ended up sacrificing our second night payment and left early. ||I have seen a similar review for this hotel so I don’t think it is a one if experience. I stayed here for two weeks and I really enjoyed my time here. It is located in a quiet and isolated place on the height of the hills. There is a swimming pool, it is quite spacious, the open space is well decorated with plants and flowers and the huts are very nice. I found the bed particularly comfortable. ||You get a view to Lake Victoria from here and you may climb to the top of the nearby rocks to get a nicer view.||The staff is friendly and so is the owner who (if around) is particularly open to requests and feedback.||||On the bad side: Some days on the weekends there is a pub in the village nearby which disrupts the otherwise peaceful nights, since the noise goes up to the hotel.||The rooms are very nice, but the toilet is missing some maintainance. For everything in this world I would never recommend this “hotel” to anyone. The hotel was such a scam, All the furniture was broken, the pictures did not at all live up to the expectations, the staff was the most unprofessional (and not speaking English). 2 hours after our arrival we decided to check the opportunity for earlier check out as we really didn’t like to be there nor felt safe. We went to the reception. The receptionist called the owner that introduced himself and after we told about our wish to leave he started YELLING and called us a lot of swear words.
