The place is a camp in the middle of the forest and the reserve. We rented the family tent, which is designed to the highest standards and includes 4 large beds and 2 bathrooms. The man was clean and super cool. We had a couple of ahml nights where you can see the woods in nature and I saw the elephant near the tent about 10 meters away. The crew is very helpful, especially (the employee Jumaa) the food service was excellent and when you go out on a full-day safari, the food is prepared for you and taken with you. On the safari trip, we had a driver from another company who is excellent and also has great experience called Bonnie and the trip coordinator Bella was constantly and permanently connected. Thank you all .

Incredible, Amazing experience at Tarangire! The team were fantastic, amazing service, so kind and courteous. The rooms were very clean, with all the mod cons, hot water, better toilet than my house! Spacious, comfortable and secure. The food was delicious, some of the best food we'd had in Tanzania so far. The guys also packed us delicious lunches for our days on Safari. 10/10 if I ever get the chance to come back I will book to stay here!

The worst sleep ever and not because of the animals… read more to see why you should stay elsewhere

First of all let me say that this is a nice camp in the middle of nowhere. Animals come by in the night - we did see an elephant in the morning but mostly the beasts came by at night - nothing to see only noises keeping you awake

I am mostly deaf and so I didn’t hear much but nonetheless I had the worst sleep I have ever had in any hotel, campsite or resort - the sheets and pillow cases were made of this TERRIBLE FABRIC that was hard, uncomfortable and felt like the fireproof chemical coating (PFAS??) on a cheap decorative pillow you might find on a junk couch. On top of that the pillow itself was very bad too - not at all soft luxury as you would expect at any hotel in this price category.

And to top it all off, there’s really no management on-site (everything paid to remote office etc) and I got the feeling that the on-site employees were trapped like low paid slaves (although they did a good job of acting happy)

All in all NOT RECOMMENDED for any overnight stay, much better to go to Mbali Mbali river resort nearby - a bit more expensive but with a deck for chilling out and having an overview of the river...

Baobab Tented Camp is fantastic! My wife and I spent three nights here in May during our 15 day African Safari. Of all the lodges and tented camps we stayed, Baobab Tented Camp was our favorite. The location is stunning, with the tents nestled in between Acacia and Baobab trees. The camp has wonderful tents, well equipped with a very comfortable bed, indoor shower and bathroom, and are tastefully decorated. The dining area was lovely and the meals were the best during our entire trip. The chef did an excellent job dealing with a celiac food allergy. The manager and staff were extremely friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay perfect. What a wonderful experience going to sleep with the sounds of hyenas, lions and elephants in the distance and watching the African sunrise from bed. We highly recommend Baobab Tented Camp and would love to...
