We stayed on this campsite twice during our self-driving trip through Tanzania. Is is a very nice place with many big trees for shade. Kevin, the caretaker, is very friendly and helpful. The ablution blocks have been completely rennovated while we were there for the first time and are very clean. Toilets are western and also african style. There is a covered area with some tables and chairs. It's basic but good. The nights are very quiet. Zebras roaming around the area. There are many birds making different beautiful sounds and if you go out for a walk you will find Massai children waving at you. Great place right outside Tarangire Nationalpark (7km). We paid 15000 TZS per person and night. We just showed up. Higly recommended.

We liked our staying here, we felt safe, the elder man set down with us next to the fireplace and told us so many stories and walked us around to show us the night animals. It would be very helpful to have something to hang the clothes but I found the place better than described in the reviews.

Nice and cozy place, All the staff is very friendly but the soul of this camp is Kevin...he will go above and beyond to make sure you will have a good time and that you will be comfortable during your stay here. Thanks Kevin, if we will come back it will surely be mostly because of you 🙏🏼

We went without a reservation. A sign on the main road shows the campsite. A nice guy opened the gate. Kevin. I asked how much the campsite for a day for three people. He said 80$ . I said no. That’s too much. We agreed 20$ppI asked is there a cold beer here? He said he doesn’t have it but he can bring it. And he brought it after 15 minutes. I gave him one. He made for us hot shower. The night was quiet the toilet and shower were clean. Kevin all night guarded on a chair. If next time I pass between Mkomazi and Tarangire I would...

Wasn’t sure what to expect but we had a great night camping here. The area is really peaceful and while it’s basic it has what you need for a night or two of simple camping. We were the only people there and just turned up without a booking - they did have to fill up the water tanks so we could shower (cold/Luke warm water)?but this wasn’t a problem. Overall convenient campsite for Tarangire NP and would stay...
