Sayari Mara Camp was our third Asilia camp during our Tanzania Safari. Asilia constantly offers a good overall experience with a nice accomodation, nice lodge, good food and excellent guiding with a certain level of comfort. F. e. in any of the Asilia camps hot-water-bottles are provided in the vehicle for the morning game drives......||Our operator has included the stay at Sayari Mara Camp after going to the migration taking place in the south of Serengeti in Jan. As we strived for having some nice safari experiences far away from the crowds this spot was included..... though the main season for this location is clearly when the migration is there BUT it´s also worth to give a visit in the side season..... the experience is much more quiet and private - in the camp and also when being out for the game drives.....||The scenery of the nature is awesome in the green season! Regarding the landscape in this season, this part of Tanzania was the nicest in our opinion..... though it also means that the game is much harder to spot than in the dry season. It was really challenging..... but it was worth it! We have seen a lot of highlights here:|- plenty of hippos|- a pride of lions eating a zebra|- buffalos|- lots of zebras, Thomson gazelles |- serval cat (very rare to see)||Spending some time next to the famous Mara river was also a highlight of this location.....||The camp itself is clean, comfortable, the staff is efficient and very friendly. Especially our waitress Emi was so kind. ||Once we have come back from a game drive the team had set up a small mobile bar in the bush so we could enjoy the sunset. This is what Asilia plays very well - delivering nice moments to their guests - very nice surprises.....||Side note:|This camp definitely sets up the best / biggest camp fire every night from all of the camps we have been to. Great experience on every...
Read moreFor our last few nights we wanted a comfortable stay and to see the wilderbeest migration. Sayari was the perfect fit.
We were fortunate to be paired with Daudi as our driver. He's got a lot of experience and was able to find four crossings in three days! Wow, most people are lucky if they even see one. You could tell Daudi was really good because we were usually one of the first vehicles to get to the crossing. The rule is you want to be early to get good visibility and Daudi never let us down. He was also a pleasant and knowledgeable host who made the long hours waiting for a crossing enjoyable. I love that he also seemed as excited as we were to watch one.
The camp itself is simply amazing. Well designed 'tents' that felt more like a cottage compete with running water, bathtub, shower and outdoor showers and a great location to watch the animals passing by each morning. The internet is available but only in the rooms because they want you to socialize in the main areas.
The food was great and fitting for a high end establishment. They also have a micro brewery on site that was pretty good. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. We even had lunch brought out to us one day because we had been out all day waiting for a crossing. That's great service! We'd also like to thank the wilderbeest for crossing over just before the food arrived so we could relax and enjoy the food and have a toast.
Finally, Sayari uses the open air range rovers for their vehicles which give you a great view of everything when out on a drive.

Read moreOur stay at Sayari Camp was overall enjoyable, but given the price point, I do feel there are areas that could be improved.||Positives:|The camp itself is beautiful and set in an amazing location to experience the Serengeti. Most of the staff members were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the overall service was attentive and thoughtful. Their warmth made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout most of our stay.||Areas for Improvement:|Cleanliness could definitely be better. Several spots in the room were not very clean, and at this level of accommodation, I would expect higher attention to detail when it comes to housekeeping. Food was another area where expectations didn’t quite match the reality. We tried both fish and chicken dishes, but unfortunately they were very dry, which was disappointing considering the quality I had anticipated.||Additionally, while most staff members were excellent, our experience with one of the drivers was not as positive. During our game drives, he often seemed impatient, and when we asked questions, the responses felt dismissive. This gave us the impression that he was not very enthusiastic about his role, which is unfortunate because the guide plays such a central part in the safari experience.||Overall:|Sayari Camp is a beautiful property with friendly staff and strong service, but with improvements in cleanliness, food quality, and consistency among staff attitudes, it could truly live up to the exceptional value it...
