MIKUMI RESORT AND SAFARI HOTEL — Hotel in Morogoro Region

We stayed in this hotel one week ago for two nights. When we arrived, manager of this hotel told us, that room we have booked before, is already occupied, even though our tour guide has reserved it a few days before. Later we found out, that it wasn´t truth. They gave us one of outside rooms. Room seemed to be nice, so we agreed to stay there. The bungalow directly next to us was also occupied by young pair. In the morning we woke up by banging on the door. It was a young women from next room. WE WERE ROBBED!! SOMEONE BROKE UP IN OUR ROOMS, during we were sleeping!!! All our things were STOLEN!!!!! ALL MONEY, ELECTRONICS and at first PASSPORTS, bags, clothes and everything. we were shocked. The thief must sneak all around the room. Fortunatelly Passports and clothes were found behind the hotel. All windows and doors were closed and doors locked, and the thief must know, that some of windows are impossible to lock. at the end we found out, that only these two rooms, that we had slept in, were occupied. There was old hole in fence behind. We´re sure, that the manager knew about that and had a deal with thief. Also security was there during the night. Useless.So if you already go in this hotel, CHECK ALL WINDOWS, LOCK THE DOORS, HAVE YOUR VALUABLE ITEMS ON YOUR BODY and other things...

This is a hidden gem. It’s very quiet and a new property. It’s also a pretty property and the suites have a lot of windows and are beautifully done. A good value for price.

Cleanliness: VERY clean.. this was my fav part about the hotel

Location : It’s located about 2 kilometers from the main drag.

Cust service: The manager and owner spoke very good English and were VERY accommodating. The other staff did not speak much English but were pleasant.

Food/bevg: I had the fish and the chicken while I was there. Both were good. It’s probably a bit overpriced for the area but not unreasonable. The food had a bit of a western flavor to it. To be honest, I wish they would have just served me Tanzanian food. They have a full bar, as well.

Security: I felt very safe. It is a fenced property with security guards.

It's a nice resort with a reasonable price compared to the other hotels in town. The outdoor area is very nice, big green garden with many trees. Service is great and the staff and the owner are very helpful. They also helped us in booking a safari to Mikumi National Park. There's a restaurant which serves a good breakfast. The meals for dinner were a bit monotonous and flavorless. There was a problem with electricity, we had no power for an entire day and the owner only switched on the generator in the evening.
