Emerald Bay Resort — Hotel in Pemba

I have been staying in this resort along with friends for 5 days after doing Safari in the northern parks. We decided to come to Pemba to avoid the massive tourism of Zanzibar and our choice went far beyond our expectations. This resort is located right in the south of the island and I think is the only one in that area. The rooms are really big, the private bathroom well equipped and the bed very comfortable. The resort also offers a really nice swimming pool and, most important, a restaurant located right on the terrace of the resort with an amzing view on the nature and the sea. With regard to the restaurant, a strongest point is the presence of a very skilled chef which is able to prepare dishes of extremely high quality. The quality of the food is actually higher than most of the place you can find in Europe. Luca, one of the manager of the place, has been really helpful with us and he has organized really nice excursions which made our holiday unforgettable. One of the best quality of this place is that it offers everyday the transport (emerald bay resort has his own boat) to sandbanks that are really breathtaking. Tanzania is really influenced by tides so everyday you have different places where you can go. ||||Definitely, Pemba is one of the less impacted place in the world and it is highly recommended. A cosy and well organised resort, settled amongst well maintained gardens, rice fields and a lush green forest. We have enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, the beautiful views from the terrace and the rooftop dining room. Every day, the Emerald Bay resort offers the unique opportunity to explore by private dhow the small islands, the inlets and the sandbanks that are just few minutes away. We were never tired of the variety of colours of the pristine sea and we felt like Robinson Cruise, sometimes! The staff was extremely kind and reserved, they spoiled us with amazing food, mostly based on seafood from daily catches, delicious freshly pressed fruit juices, homemade breads. If you look for discos, pubs and lots of tourists, chose another destination. If you are looking for a glimpse of Africa, to enjoy the rhythms, colours and perfumes of natures, do not hesitate, just go. Although the area of the resort is not that big, the place is simply qmazing, it makes you fell like lost in paradise. The houses, the style they are organised, everything built in massive wood, spacious rooms with big bathroom, and the huge bed, were just the begining. The view, when exiting the room is just perfect, with the blue pool in front. Climbing to the restaurant brings you to the top of the main building, seeing the emerald bay, and offering a wide view to the whole area. The perfect feeling is to see the full moon from the pool at night.
