You need to be in the right mindset to enjoy this place. Me: I had been on Pemba for several days and unable to find a beer anywhere. So it was a dream come true.||||The beach is not really a beach so much as mangrove shoreline, and you look out over the tanker terminal where gasoline is imported to Pemba. But the sunsets sure are nice. And you can bike out the peninsula to some beautiful scenery (seriously). Otherwise this hardly warrants as a destination.||||If you're a westerner looking for a beach holiday this positively is not for you. If you're a backpacker looking to stopover for a night or two somewhere near to Chake Chake, this is a good option. The staff is friendly but they don't show any motivation nor skills. The receptionist/manager can be happy to have this job. No smile, no good morning, no bye bye etc..... The rooms are small, clean but have no Charme. Overall there is no vibe in that place. It could be a wonderful place but just given the circumstances that there is no competition in that area makes the owner to just don't care about...
