We had the privilege of staying with Elewana at the Serengeti Migration Camp for 4 nights in September. I say privilege because the people and property seamlessly made our bucket list trip to the Serengeti everything we could have wanted and more. ||It started with John picking us up from the Seronera airstrip. A 17-year veteran in the industry, he became our driver and guide throughout our stay. He is a master at animal spotting and behavior and is also extremely adept at expertly navigating the very difficult geography around the Serengeti. It was a long drive after our original flight was changed due to an airstrip closure, but as we quickly learned every drive in the Serengeti is an experience to be savored. | |Once getting to the camp we were greeted with a resounding chorus of “karibu” (“welcome” in Swahili) from the management and staff. A welcome and send off that we received daily as we left and returned for our game drives and adventures. The property serves as an excellent base for Safari adventures. Don't miss the sunsets and sundowner drinks on the deck. Kudos to the Chef and culinary staff. The food was exceptional, especially considering the remote location. It met all expectations from both a perspective of taste and presentation. Snacks, and sometimes lunches, are provided for long days in the field with full setups including silverware and tablecloths. There’s a genuine level of warmth and dedication to service from the staff. Special shout outs to Charles (the assist Mgr.), and our designated wait staff Jonas and Fatima, who graciously got up at 3AM to send us off on our balloon ride over the Mara River.||The rooms and grounds were well maintained and beautiful, blending seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. The property is built on banks overlooking the Grumeti River. The views are exceptional but necessitate a good degree of mobility with navigation of stairs and uneven ground. The king size bed was comfortable, and the showers had plenty of hot water. Turn down at night when the temperature drops, includes hot water bottles and blankets to keep warm. I would describe the facilities as “high-end rustic" or a "luxury camp.” There are no fences on the property, so you will hear and may encounter animals, which is kind of the point of being there!! Savor and enjoy all of it. ||Asante Sana Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp, you by far exceeded our expectations. Well done to all!!||Darin & Bernie Fulkerth,...
Read moreElewana Serengeti Migration Camp provides an amazing vacation experience for all guests. They consistently go above and beyond as hosts, with amazing attention to detail and a desire to please. No stone is left unturned when it comes to providing a 10/10 stay. They made sure to make us feel welcome, valued, and appreciated as guests. I want to give a special shoutout to Charles, the resort manager who greeted us with warmth every single day; Grace, the assistant resort manager who helped organize our stay, and even put us in contact with her connections in Kenya for the last leg of our trip; Musa, who managed our stay, paid attention to our requests (Musa even took the initiative to wake up at 2 AM one day to send us off for our hot air balloon trip!), and exuded a very comforting and familial energy towards us; and Sirili and Mokili, our wonderful guides who who went above and beyond to show us the beauty of the Serengeti (they often extended their work hours to show us all that they found interesting, and possessed higher level knowledge of the ecology of the Serengeti, which they made sure to supplement our experience with!); Zakia, the chef who prepared our meals daily, adjusted to our individual requests (ex. Allergies, tastes), and went the extra mile to cook us lunches for us to eat on picnics during our safari days; Rehema, Rashid, Richard, and Ismail who escorted us to and from our lodges, brought us coffee in the mornings, kept our rooms clean and organized, and went above and beyond to beautify our stay (they built towel swans in our room, wrote individual letters to us, and gave us unique keychains to remember the trip by!); and lastly Samuel, one of the park rangers who escorted us at night and kept us safe while we moved about the resort! They all gave us a beautiful send off the day we were leaving! To those who seek to visit Tanzania and the Serengeti, I would recommend no place other than Elewana Serengeti Migration camp; and when you visit, make sure to treat the staff with the utmost grace. They are more than happy to provide a beautiful experience for you all, and are ever so gracious in extending and sharing their beautiful culture with you. Please make sure to show them, their culture, and the beautiful Serengeti with the same warmth, care, compassion,...
Read moreWe (2 families a total of 8 people) stayed at elewana migration camp for 3 days 3 nights. We were picked up by the guides Mokili and Sirili with a welcome of snacks and tea/coffee. They made us feel at home right from that minute. When we walked into the reception area the view of the wild Serengeti was breath taking. During the briefing about the facility Charles (manager) said that there were no tvs and the biggest screen was sitting in the reception area and soaking the view. Every single person had a smile on their face and made us feel at home. Musa was our butler and took real good care of us. Zakia’s food was amazing and we enjoyed talking to her. She has a nice sense of humor. Frank kept our room tidy, well stocked and always comfortable. And now for our guide Mokili and Sirili. They were the best. They had so much knowledge about everything. They asked us our wishlist and it felt like they were letting the animals know what we wanted to see making sure they showed up for us. Mokili was our guide and gave us enough time to take pictures and observe the animals. One of the morning they had a hot bush breakfast set up for us. Never had we ever imagined sitting in the wild with nice spread of fruits, breads, smoothie and hot eggs made. The first night the lion’s roars scared us but by the 3rd night they were a soothing noise. We saw hippos in the grumeti river that flows behind the camp and an elephant walk through the camp area. Some dikdiks ran one morning through the camp. It’s was just an awesome location. This was a graduation trip for our daughter and my husband’s niece, so we asked Charles to get a cake one evening for us to celebrate. That celebration showed us how much they care for their guests. Entire staff came out singing a local song with drums and dancing. They made the girls feel special. Even we tried some moves with them. At the end of 3 days we felt like we needed a few more days of stay and it was hard to say good bye. Mokili and Sirili dropped us at the Lobo airstrip and kept waving till our...
