I had the pleasure of staying at the Mwiba Lodge in Tanzania last year, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The service from the moment we arrived till our departure was top-notch, a perfect blend of professionalism and heartfelt warmth.
Our dedicated butler, Vincent, catered to our every need with incredible attention to detail, ensuring our stay was both comfortable and luxurious. The private tour guide, Ebenezer, stood out for his deep knowledge and passionate storytelling, enriching our wildlife viewing experiences.
A highlight of our stay was the sunset viewing arranged just for us. As we watched the day end with a kaleidoscope of colors filling the sky, we felt the extraordinary enchantment of the African wilderness.
The culinary experience was consistently impressive, with meals that were truly 10 out of 10. Fresh, locally-sourced ingredients were skillfully transformed into delightful gastronomic adventures. We were never left wanting.
A memorable part of our trip was the opportunity to interact with a local tribe, the last hunters and gatherers of their kind. This poignant experience touched our souls, reminding us of our roots and the fundamental connections we share as humans.
The wildlife viewing was exceptional. We were able to get up close to lions, leopards, and various other animals in their natural habitat, under the safe and knowledgeable guidance of our tour guide.
Our accommodations were a luxurious tent that provided an intimate connection with nature. Waking up to sightings of elephants and other wildlife was a dream come true, truly a thrilling encounter with the wild.
In conclusion, our stay at Mwiba Lodge was an incredible adventure, an immersion in Tanzanian wildlife, culture, and hospitality. This place is a gem that provides an unforgettable journey for all who are fortunate enough to visit. I wholeheartedly recommend Mwiba Lodge to anyone seeking the ultimate safari experience...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived at the lodge it was clear that this was an exceptional camp, staffed by incredibly dedicated, superbly trained and enthusiastic staff, set in surroundings that are screen worthy and allowing experiences of wildlife and interactions with local people that are beyond comparison! Overlooking a wonderfully active river with cascading waterfalls, the lodge itself takes one's breath away. The buildings are exquisite, the dining venues varied and personal, the African art like being in a museum and the in-camp bird and wildlife worthy of hours and hours of your time. Besides many antelope seen just below the camp, I was fortunate to see a caracal in broad daylight from the deck of our room (picture attached)! Wildlife abounds and with the migration being way south at this time of the year, herds were abundant and predators around. Every game drive was inspiring and the night drive yielded bush-babies, an eagle owl and springhares not to mention some elusive kudus! But the highlight of all drives was actually not the wildlife (as exceptional as that was) but the bush-walk with the amazing Hadzabe people who shared their knowledge and demonstrated their skills to us, as well as the visit later to the Datoga kraal where singing, dancing and good spirit made us feel so welcome. Bryson, our guide was incredible and his bird knowledge is phenomenal. Nothing was too much for him. This was matched by everyone at Mwiba, from the front office personnel (Grace and Gertrude and others), to the ascaris who escorted us at night, to Castory who made every meal, every arrival at camp and pretty much everything special, to those that cleared occasional bugs from the room, to Kinama who spent hours discussing the bush with my family at the lodge. Truly...
Read moreI wanted to share a heartfelt experience from my recent trip to Arusha. My husband and I were there for work and a bit of a getaway, and while I work at a Melia property in Switzerland, it's been a dream of mine to find a special place to settle and truly enjoy. That's when we discovered Mwiba Lodge, or as you call it, Legendary Expeditions. This review is for our visit from 28th july to 1st August 2025.
Though we couldn't stay at your lodges, as we were warmly welcomed by family at Melia Arusha, we frequented your restaurant. It's there that we encountered a staff member named Ashura, I hope I'm spelling it right, the woman with the beautiful braids. She made our days feel truly exceptional. Her patience with our many orders, her kindness, and that smile that could light up a room – it was the epitome of hospitality. I believe other staff members could learn a lot from her. She went above and beyond, always checking in to ensure our experience was perfect. We felt so genuinely cared for.
I'm so sorry that I didn't ask for a review board at the time to express my gratitude. It wasn't until I returned home to Switzerland that I realized just how special she made our visit. She's the best staff member I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone. Her VIP service was exceptional. We will definitely be back, and we're hoping to see her again, or someone else with her level of professionalism. Mwiba Lodge,...
