We stayed at Singing Grass for 3 nights in July 2025, and if there’s one word to sum up the experience — it’s indescribable. The camp is perfectly nestled at the foothills, offering stunning, uninterrupted views of the Serengeti right from your tent. The tents themselves are clean, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed, with unique outdoor showers and charming solar-powered lighting adding to the eco-friendly charm. We were a group of 10, and the staff — led by the ever-attentive Laizer — took care of us with exceptional warmth and efficiency. Every team member responded instantly to any need, always with a smile. A special shoutout to the cook, Augustino, who, despite being unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, won our hearts with his delicious dal, vegetables, and chapatis. Truly impressive! James, Seduma, and Innocent were also outstanding — consistently going above and beyond to make our stay feel special. After every game drive, we were greeted with warm towels — a small but thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about the service culture at Singing Grass. Evenings were magical around the bonfire set right in the heart of the camp — a perfect way to unwind and share stories under the stars. We only wish we could have extended our stay, but the camp was fully booked — not surprising given how exceptional it is! Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the Serengeti with comfort, care, and a deep...
Read moreAfter many photography workshops and safaris across the continent I had settled on the Mara as my main destination; BUT when I re-visited the Serengeti last year with my first group of aspiring photographers after a long break, I changed my mind. I give full credit to the team at The Singing Grass camp to whom I had sent several requests, and they took care of everything for me and my guests.
The camp itself is a gem. Set in a fantastic location with huge rooms and great service, it is true luxury complimented by great food. The staff make you feel like you are at home. One of my requests was a guide or a guide experienced in photographers needs, or one who was willing to learn them and be flexible and enthusiastic. The owner personally took care of this request and I had a fantastic guide who knew the park inside out and was willing to learn my preferences. Each photographer has his own way of working and it’s important that the guide you work with understands that. The Serengeti is unique and different; it’s a photographers dream, a holiday makers respite, and a once in a lifetime experience; To do it in The Singing Grass way is an unparalleled bonus.
I would highly recommend The Singing Grass to anyone wanting to visit the Savannah, and even go as far as to say that in my almost 2 decades of travel to the continent, there is no...
