Panori Hotel — Hotel in Tanga

As a seasoned traveller, this was one of the worst experiences ever. Don't know where to begin. Firstly, this hotel is way off the main road and not anywhere close to the beach. I walked into an empty reception and waited patiently. Eventualy someone turned up but they said they didn't have my booking although I showed them my digital confirmation.I was then shown to my room and I was asked to wait outside as they sprayed insecticide. I walked in 15 minutes later and there all these bugs on the floor. I mentioned it to the room steward, who said there was nothing they could do about. The hotel is in a residential area, and the neighbours were having a party of some sort. I did not get much sleep. Meals were even worse. It appeared they were not used to running a restaurant and I had to wait ages for both dinner and breakfast. I complained at the reception but I was not taken seriously. I would not recommend this...

I stayed at the hotel for 5 weeks in Tanga - and I would say it is my best experience in the city - the best breakfast, so friendly and sweet staff, and very nice dinner. We were 6 people on this trip, and we arranged a joint dinner every evening and the amount of food was perfect and very tasty. |The staff easily fulfill your wishes for instance call a badjadji, buys peanut butter for breakfast and gives you an extra towel. The area around the rooms are so nice and very nice chill spots. Panori is in an excellent location not far from the ocean out of Tanga town centre in suburbs and away from town hustle and bustle and noise. Good use of space and open spaces make it spacious and relaxing.

Panori rooms were above standard, very clean with air conditioning which is very useful for the hot weather. Plenty of water unlike in some Tanga hotels.

Staff were very friendly with a personal touch and interaction from the director herself. Very good for family.
