Unforgettable Mountain Escape in Samoeng – A Hidden Gem Worth the Trip! 🌿 This homestay is located in a tranquil village area at the border of Samoeng, Mae Rim, and Hang Dong districts—a perfect blend of nature, culture, and seclusion just outside Chiang Mai.
This was hands down the best 180-degree panoramic view we’ve experienced in the mountains of Chiang Mai. Watching the clouds roll by and the landscape shift while sitting on the balcony felt like a live painting. If you’re a nature lover or just in need of true peace and beauty, this place delivers beyond expectations.
📍 Location-wise, it's very accessible—just about 1 to 1.5 hours from Chiang Mai city center. After the main road, there's a short but steep uphill section to reach the homestay. While it might be a bit challenging for some drivers or riders, cars can go up just fine, and there's a parking area right by the entrance.
🙏 Hospitality here is next level. The owner greeted us with a refreshing lychee welcome drink and fresh lychees picked from the trees right on the property. Guests are encouraged to pick lychees freely, and the friendly staff even helped us gather some. The warmth and generosity of everyone there really made us feel at home.
🛏️ Our room was clean and comfortable, with electricity, bottled water, coffee packets, an electric kettle, and a modern bathroom—more convenient than most homestays we’ve seen. Towels, shower gel, and shampoo were all provided, making the stay very convenient.
🍽️ The homestay offers a small in-house menu featuring a selection of drinks and snacks, including alcoholic options. If you're craving a full meal like fried rice or noodles, a short ride to the nearby village will lead you to a couple of charming local restaurants.
🍳 Breakfast was delightful, with options like omelette with rice, minced pork with basil, biscuits, bananas, and fresh lychees. For dinner, we enjoyed a Moo Kata (Thai BBQ) experience, which was a real highlight. All meals are thoughtfully prepared and served directly on your private balcony or outdoor seating area by the staff, allowing you to dine while soaking in the breathtaking mountain view.
🌧️ Though many people head up during the Thai winter, we highly recommend visiting during the rainy season too. The air is crisp and clean, with no sign of Chiang Mai’s PM2.5 pollution or burning season haze according to the owner —it’s much higher up, and the views are just as magical and they experience clean air throughout the year.
🏡 The homestay has around 15 rooms spread over two levels. All the rooms have great views. For the best unobstructed views, we suggest the middle room on the...
