From Chiang Mai, I detoured to Chom Thong and stayed three nights at Nok Chan Mee Na. I didn’t stay here before! I browsed through Expedia and highlighted this hotel to me which I booked without thinking twice! Thanks God, this is the place that I really looking forward to stay because it is a “Basic Tent with Hill View”. Even though it was written as Basic Tent but to me it is really a luxury Tent because inside the Tent, there are two single comfortable beds, one table lamp, plenty of power supply outlets, torch light, bottled water, toiletries and towels, of course with thick blanket for the winter plus a fan for the afternoon! There is a swimming pool inside the hotel. There are total of 8 tents plus 8 individual rooms with private toilet and TV. For my 3 nights stay here, the shared public toilets and shower rooms were just few steps away. In the morning, I can enjoy the morning breeze with beautiful sunrise view from the east side of the mountain. I can easily listen to the sounds of roosters calling for the sunrise with birds singing. Ooh I forgot to mention that WiFi is everywhere at public areas and inside the tent too.||The hotel itself is a farm whereby I can feel the greenish vegetables, strawberries plants, banana and papaya trees. The hot shower is perfect for a winter weather. That’s why I called it a luxury Tent instead of basic! On the west side, there is a Wat (Buddhist Temple) which is about 1km away on top of a small hill. So, I can enjoy a view of some parts of Chom Thong city. |The owner of the hotel is very friendly. Bananas and oranges are free to eat in their restaurant because we were staying there. The cook specially cooked our morning breakfast because we are strict vegetarian. We were served with white porridge and mixed fried vegetables which were so delicious! The host even let us to cook for one meal due to our request! |We rent a motorbike from the hotel and riding the route 1009 leading us to the summit of Doi Inthanon and visits to both the Pagodas. |The hotel owner, named Mr Pongpon (nickname is Koy) is very humble and friendly. He gave me tips of my visits to the places of interests, and saved some money. One most important thing that I need to mention is that Mr Koy gave me a free ride from his hotel to Chiang Mai Central Plaza beside Chiang Mai Airport. He didn’t charge me a single cent. He is very kind because he need to send his wife to the airport too!|I would definitely stay at his hotel if I were to go to Chom Thong again and to visit the Doi Inthanon! I would give a 5 stars for my stays here! It was truely a great experience and memorable...
Read moreDidn't expect much of this place, but I guess that's why I am pleasantly surprise and enjoyed the place. Reaching the place from a very narrow road, turning left into the premises you can go straight and park next to the swimming pool, or turn right and park near the check in front desk.||Check in was easy and fast, the rooms are clean and free of insect (unless you left the door opened and invited the critters in, else the air condition works well, almost brand new, we had the 4 person and 2 person room, just next to the pool. The pool is a little greenish, but clean, I drank a little but nothing happened to me, so everything is fine. WIFI coverage is good, rooms are big. ||A walk towards the smaller "concrete hut" on bamboo linked bridge was enjoyable, they are preparing more rooms, so I guess when peak season is here, these replaced the old TENT style accomodation. The rooms are just nice for 2 to sleep plus a small space to move around. ||The restaurant food is nice and priced reasonable, free hot water, hot chocolate, bananas lying everywhere and food taste great. Just be prepared to eat with lots of flies and insects, non air-conditioned, open air cool night breeze, frogs and chicken roaming around while you eat, great ambience.||It is very near the LITTLE FARM or SMALL FARM, which I reviewed as well, good place for family with kids to visit, but as it is off peak, don't expect too much, mostly animal feeding and...
