The resort is situated on the bank of the river Kok just a short walk from the Thaton bridge, and a 7/11. The Resort is very pretty and has great views of the river which is very nice. The garden looked as if it had seen better days but was still very pleasant to stroll around. The swimming pool looked to be out of action for the foreseeable future as it was filled with tools, and drained of water. We stayed in one of the detached two roomed bungalows at the front of the resort which had a view of the river. Upon first inspection the room looked very disappointing, there was a beehive on the porch, the aircon looked like it was at least 20 years old, the room was a mixture of different woods but on the whole quite dark, and there was a large tree and assorted pebbles in the bathroom. However after a few hours in the room we came to quite enjoy it. The aircon worked very well, the bees never bothered us, the bathroom gave it character as did the walk in closet which reminded me a little of the 'chokee' from Matilda, the beds were comfortable and in the end we found it to be quite a pleasant room. The main flaw with the room was its lack of a fridge I feel that if it had had a fridge it would have made a great improvement, as there are not a whole lot of places to eat in Thaton. The Breakfast was the undoubtedly the worst part of our trip, the bread was quite plasticy and came in tiny white squares, which were not improved much even after being placed on the electric grill they used as a toaster. The fried eggs were very cold, and some of the fruit I had was over ripe and mushy, neither the coffee or the tea were very nice. I felt very sorry for the lady who was making the breakfast as she seemed quite flustered and inexperience with breakfast foods. The omelette she made us looked very much like deep fried scrambled eggs and tasted of the artificial cheese flavouring they sell at the movie theatres here. ||||All that being said, the staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, the wifi was good and the location was convenient for our purposes. All in All an...
Read moreThe "resort" is sometimes disturbing, it seems to have been abandoned for 20 years. The gardens seems dirty jungles, there is no one taking care of them. The swimming pool seems a green lake, it hasn’t been cleaned since long time (I’ve been told that it was cleaned in the last week by a hotel guest who decided to help his owner for a week). The room was only apparently clean, in the bathroom was full of hairs (not ours) and the sheets had different stains. There is a bad smell in the room and the water stinks. The area used as a restaurant was very dirty and populated by cats that were too young to hunt mice running around in the kitchen. In the morning we arranged to prepare something for breakfast as the staff arrived only at 8.30 and we had to leave at 9.00.|Don’t trust the pictures that you see online, they are old and not...
Read moreFor the price of 320 Baht okay. It really seems like the resort had its best time already. There was a discrepancy between the style, the resort being built, and the maintenance of the whole area.
I got a big room in the very end corner of the resort, close to the swimming pool, which has no water inside. The room is divided into a living area and a bed area, divided with a wall of bamboo mats. The bathroom was also spacious and included a walk-in closet. The fluid soap had a strange smell, like it might be overaged. The room, beds and towels included, were clean.
I didn't get a key for the room, even I asked for. I was told my belongings are safe. This was okay for me, but very unusual.
There seems to be a nice coffee and restaurant in the entrance area, but i hadn't the opportunity to...
