Stayed at the Serene Sands Resort primarily to work, we needed somewhere quiet and out of town, it was perfect in that respect and the quality of the wifi not just in the around but around the resort was amazing.||||For the play part, it's not too far into town if you want to have a night out, there's also a bunch of good restaurants nearby.||||The best thing about this hotel though is the staff, without doubt this is the most hospitable hotel that I have stayed in for years, they really make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble, I stayed for ten days but would happily stay for months on end.||||Thanks Sarin and Kay for your hospitality, also many thanks to Kan and Pui for taking care of our everyday needs, we really appreciated it and hope it won't be too long before we are back.||||Last but by no means least, if you are feeling stressed and need help with that or maybe anyone of the many mental and physical problems that we have to face everyday ask to see Jim, he is based in the hotel and specializes in the healing arts and Tai Chi, Jim is great guy, time spent Jim is a...
Read moreWe spent two amazing weeks at Serene Sands. We enjoyed it very much and the Hotel met both our expectations and needs. We were especially looking for a peaceful environment, where we could get to know the locals way of life. On our morning walks we would go around the neighborhoods passing the local housins and meeting cheerful pupils whose greetings and joy were pure Thainess. All members of staff were kind and helpful. My morning Chi Kung practices with the guidance of exellent "cifu" Jim McCord at the most wonderful garden with birds singin and water flowing at the backround were icing on the cake. I highly recommend Jim both for those who practice Taj Chi as well as for those who are interested it. He also gives Shiatsu massages, which felt great. In addition there is a swimming pool close to the ocean, which made sun bathing more pleasant with a soft cooling breeze. Thank you Jim and the Sttaff! This is the kind of Hotel that I would prefer to stay at other...
Read moreHad to be in the area for two days so I booked at the Serene Sands (discounted rate) for Sunday night. I checked in very early with no charge or problem. The property is right on the beach and very well maintained. I booked a superior room and found it to very small. Just a hint, do not book for Sunday night. It seems to take up the slack in slow times local people are allowed to use the facilities and a very large number of kids took up the pool after 3 PM until dark (so much for quiet.) The place is small and so is the staff. The restaurant is very small and service on Sunday was very slow, again maybe because it was Sunday. Some disappointments: the gym has minimal equipment, breakfast was very basic, no coffee or tea (or cup) in the room as advertised. I do highly recommend this property for couples that want to get away to a nice place and be left alone. They even have two Love Shacks on the beach. Good value...
