Located off a little alley in Pathio Chumpon this property is a little homestay consisting of 3 to 4 wooden huts.
The huts are built authentic Thai style, on raised wooden boards and there is a little terrace outside.
I chose this accomodation because we were traveling from Bangkok to South Thailand with 2 cats and this was just about 15 minutes off route 4.
So the main thing was that it was pet friendly, although the fittings in the room it self was not built for dogs and cats - unlike in some other hotels - eg several ceramic items in the room, the cats could hide under the bed.
Despite being quite "open" the rooms and bathroom were very clean and there were no geckos ants or cockroaches. There were however lots of mosquitos outside on the terrace, but that is the case everywhere in rural Thailand.
The environment was "farm-stay" like, there were chickens and ducks roaming around and there was even a peacock. In that sense it was a little "noisy" but it was really due to the fact that my cats were really excited/scared to see these animals and kept pouncing up and down and pawing at the windows the whole night.
The room has aircon and hot water which worked perfectly. I wish though that the floor boards and windows are better insulated because the aircon can leak through the gaps in the floor and windows. It also makes it not so environmentally friendly.
In terms of convenience it was rather average as there were no restaurants within walking distance.
The owners were very warm, welcoming...
Read moreWhat a surprise. This simple homestay is very well done. Everything is minimally perfect. One of the owners was an architect and in this case the design is clean and functional. The room is extraordinarily clean and equipped with a kettle, refrigerator, very good shower pressure and hot water. The A/C does the job and I like that there is a good table lamp so I don't have to use the ceiling lights. The beds are quite firm yet not too hard. I slept well despite my bad back. The room is located down a lane that runs off the main road a short distance from the 7/11. The property has a large canal at the end of the road with a variety of exotic bird species. Rabbits, peacocks, and huge colorful roosters roam freely. The older couple who take care of the property are exceedingly friendly and unobtrusively helpful....

The atmosphere and vibes are perfect.
Check in was just a cash transaction no need for a form or picture of my passport. Close to 7-11 and a market across the street with a few choices for food. River right by property and the beach is a 5 minute walk. You also can leave your alarm clock at home since the roosters will make sure you’re up before dawn and throughout...
