My friend and I booked this room via Agoda and the photos are misleading, especially for the standard rooms with 2 single beds, i.e., I HAVE SEEN CLOSETS BIGGER THAN THIS ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!||||Seriously, the room was unbelievably small, where you could not pass another person at the foot of the bed to go outside the room or to the bathroom. Worse, we had an insect (they looked like ants, but smaller) infestation leading from the sliding glass door to the bathroom. Hotel staff came by and sprayed insect repellent to rectify the problem, but we could not enter our rooms until later that evening and frankly, I could still smell the insecticide. There was no way, no how, my buddy and I were going to stay at this resort pass this one night (we had booked for 4 nights). Fortunately, the hotel desk manager understood the problem and immediately took action to upgrade us to a larger room near the infinity swimming pool. Regardless, we still had to sleep in this uncomfortable room the 1st night. ||||The other major issue at this hotel is the incompetent restaurant staff. No one speaks English and coupled with their terrible service, where for example, you might get one of the dishes you ordered, they haven't brought out the silverware, napkins, or your other guests meals. Every thing was done piecemeal . . . One plate came out . . . five minutes would pass and another plate would come out, etc., etc. There is only one waitress and she is overwhelmed. I actually felt sorry for her, but quite frankly, she has no business serving customers because she has zero training. Here is what occurred during breakfast and dinner when we had meals at the restaurant:||||1. My buddy and I ordered something and she brought out 4 beers. Both of us don't drink, I forgot what we ordered, but it certainly wasn't beer. ||||2. Another time, we ordered something that was spicy and asked that the dish not contain hot peppers, i.e., make it non spicy. Yes, they screwed it up and it came out spicy. ||||3. In lieu of the above, the one person who speaks fluent English at the hotel desk - we asked her to tell the waitress what we wanted, i.e., a non spicy version of a shrimp salad. Again, they blew it and we received a spicy shrimp salad dish. ||||4. As I alluded to above, too many times to remember, they forgot forks, spoons, napkins, etc. Additionally, if you ordered more than one dish - you would have to wait an inordinate amount of time for the dishes to come out. They never came out together. ||||5. The same cook works at the Coffee bar at lunch and I ordered shrimp and rice, with cucumbers. I got the shrimp and rice, but no cucumbers and only when I complained, did she correct the order. ||||I think part of the problem is that the hotel is located on the other side of the island, where no one lives. Consequently, all the workers are very low paid and live on the resort grounds. They are also overworked. The same people working all day and all evening are the same people you see the next day. Hard to explain, but they do not have many staff people at the hotel. Worse, none of them are trained in Western hotel and restaurant standards/practices. Consequently, the service is terrible. ||||The resort does have inexpensive motor bikes (250 baht a day), so transportation to the more busier side of the island is possible. That being said, I would only recommend this place to romantics who want to get away...

I and my huge family have been here for New Year Party for 2 nights. We got warm welcome by fresh juice welcome drink. If you need the resort near the famous attraction, the location is not suitable for you because this resort is standalone from the others. It is suitable for the couples or family who need relaxation, friendly and great fresh atmosphere. I recommended VIP Room (Premier Suite) for a big family, you may ask for the extra bed because there are 2 bathrooms inside. And I also recommended Sky Terrace Room for couples, it was so romantic to sit down at the terrace under the moonlight and see the stars in the clearly sky beside your sweetheart :) (Don’t forget to ask the staff how to open the sunroof) OH!! You also see the sunrise from the sea. Although the resort is close to the sea there is no sand beach like the others to walk, you can’t swim in the sea because of the rocks but do Kayak and swim in the pool. We ask for the New Year Party BBQ seafood dinner which they bought ingredients from the native fishermen and make it done for us with special price. Although the resort is away from the clutter, there are still many attractions to touch such as Scuba diving (one day trip), Kayak by yourself or just sit on the boat call “เรือมาด, Reu-Mad” to see the nature and estuary (you may visit their FB: SalakKhokKayakStation), waterfall, Salakphet Temple and Museum, and finding handmade low cost high quality souvenir at “บ้านรักกะลา”, products from coconut shell made by natives (you may visit their FB: วิสาหกิจชุมชน บ้านรักกะลา เกาะช้างใต้) although it is just a little shop but you and the one you gave this souvenir will be happy. By the way, you may tell your plan to the resort staff because they can help you in every way. The restaurant I suggest is SalakPhet seafood (you may visit their FB: สลักเพชร ซีฟู้ด รีสอร์ท แอนด์ สปา). These are the trip I had planned for my big family for 3 months. Conclusion: The resort is great, nice and friendly staff BUT the price is very high especially in high season and long holidays, so please avoid...

I stayed at Na Tara for 3 days, 2 nights and was blown away my experience! From the very first moment to the last minute I felt like a celebrity. When I arrived in the evening and was greeted with moist towelettes and a cold beverage and it was in these moments I knew my stay was going to be exactly what I needed! ||||I came with a group which is deffinitely something I recommend doing. The resort is really set up for corporate, or group events but if it's just one or two of you then you will feel right at home with the peace and quiet. ||||The food is fantastic and so is the view! What's very unique about this place is that pretty no matter where you are in the resort, there is a view. Whether your in the conference room, eating a meal in the dining room or drinking your heart away at the bar you will be surrounded by a beautiful view. This was one of the features I love most about it! I could sit by the pool, eat a delicious meal, read a book and be surrounded by beauty. ||||There are also quite a few activities that you can take part in when you visit. I recommend kayaking in the ocean, renting a boat and snorkeling the islands, and seeing the waterfalls! It is a little far from town but when you stay here you forget. It won't matter either because you can apparently can rent scooter or a car. ||||The hotel staff if another thing I loved so much! I am a very talkative person and that is key when I stay somewhere. Is the staff helpful, willing to communicate and carry a conversation. I enjoy people even when I am on vacation and had some short but sweet conversations with some of the staff. They are so helpful and I am truly looking to going back and talking more. ||||In the end there is no doubt in my mind you will be satisfied. This is by far one of my favorite stays at a resort! my on,y negative feedback is that I didn't stay long enough! ;) Next time for sure I will have to...

Stayed here for 3 nights and unfortunately there were quite a few more negatives than positives. -The mattress was a very hard and bumpy spring mattress. -The room was very bright all night as the curtains were thin and there were building lights outside that we could not turn off. With the mattress it meant very uncomfortable and restless nights sleep. -While the shower was spacious and powerful the water would drain too slowly so if you were in there for more than 3 or 4 minutes the whole bathroom floor would get soaked as it would overflow. -On the beach side the deck is completely broken apart as can be seen in another reviewers photo. -While there is a door to the beach side you cannot walk to it without either walking past other people's porches or jumping across 2 water trenches. -The raised white sand beach area looks nice but has a serious ant problem. Every single square centimetre was covered in them. I wouldn't recommend walking across it, not to mind spending any time there. -The beach also isn't ideal for swimming as the water is only knee depth for a very very long way out. -There is no restaurant in the hotel and the nearest restaurants close very early. The latest any stay open are 8 pm with most closing earlier so make sure to eat early. On the plus side: -The staff were very friendly and helpful. -The room and inside of the building was very clean, tidy and well looked after. -So peaceful the whole time as it is on the quite less touristy side of the island. -The pool while pretty small was really great. The view was outstanding and the infinity effect if you get the angle just right looks incredible. Perfect if you want to get that Instagram picture. With some outdoor TLC, new mattress and better blinds this Na Tara would easily be 5 stars.

The place located on the left side of the island (from the ferry spot) which considered to be quite a local side. If you preferred serenity atmosphere, recommend it here. The room is clean nice ‘house-vibe’ decorating. Make you feel like home. Unfortunately the night we spent was after a heavily rain and some room probably had some problem with electricity so we had to switch the room for 3 times cause by the AC not working well. The hotel needed big renovation still. The staff, I would love to give 10/5 star for her help. Nice and kind.

Best deal please check price during low-High season. Room are so good! Perfect night with beautiful stars but it’s bad which no bathtub only shower. Beach is not seem easy to swim but good swimming pool. Breakfast is not good or enough 😂. Location is very far from another side of koh Chang but if it’s good if you are looking for good place to stay in this side of island. Two rooms on second floor are connected and your family , friends can spend time together!!!
