āŒšŸ†˜ update 2024 . āœˆļø Plane crash , all passengers died.. update 2022 šŸ”„ The fire at the villa . Many guests were injured

My stay . Details:

-THE PLANE -meeting at the airport and the escort is pleasant and attentive. Everything is very fast. The plane with grey seats is old, needs a repair IMMEDIATELY, but the seats thanks god are comfortable . ..definitely not a 5 star service . Also we know that this plane is not safe and if engine stop or broke in the air..you die..

At the entrance to the pier, we were warned about their philosophy-ā€œno shoes and newsā€, but the first thing the manager asked me-ā€œwhere are you from? Oh, you have a bad situation there, how are you? What news?ā€...REALLY?šŸ˜…šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

our BUTLER Faii !! She met us and escorted us with silence to the villa. She didn't say a word, and she wasn't friendly. The room was not prepared.the air conditioner is not on and the lights have been turned off. During our staying she never asked us about our staying , dosnt give a damn about us. As we know, she is 23 years old and don’t have any experience . They took her from local island 😳 She behaved is strange and manipulated the fact that she is new, so we should understand her and not touch her? But Who is quest and who pay?

ACCOMMODATION .We had a beach villa . The landscape is terrible, dont have at all. The wood looks dirty and not beautiful. I love eco style hotels as Six Senses, but in this villa is just NO STYLE, no identity,no luxury. Toilet is terrible. Very cheap. So they use very cheap furniture and bathroom furniture. Pool without jacuzzi so its looks boring.. The distance between the villas is too close, there is no privacy. It is impossible to relax

I smelled something like fungus and I asked for aroma burner , but they told me they didn't have any . But on next day I saw they were using aroma burner in the main areas and was surprised. Is this a lie or just not professional service?I trying to communicate with supporting team, but they don’t understand what is Aroma burner.šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤

-FOOD -delicious, seafood, a good selection of Ayurveda food. Daily ice cream is so so ..chocolate room is very good .

ACTIVITY Most of all, we were surprised by the prices for activiti . Culinary, sports, prices are huge , considering that all hotels have lowered the prices for such services . The staff recommended a famous local restaurant in the fishing village . And wrote a price of 5000 baht ($160) per person, but we found this restaurant and the prices were 5-10$ per dish..

SERVICE. There is no service. I feel staff afraid to communicate with guests or don’t have sense, because guests will ask something more, but staff not ready to help and cannot manage and handle problems. So they just ignore or fake smile. I feel they are very new and what they doing now - is Practice on quest and getting experience, actually its prohibit !!

DISINFECTION. We have never seen staff disinfect places and objects after and before guests . When we visited the observatory, before us and after us, no one disinfected the object ,when we asked to do it, staff cannot find spray. BRAND PHILOSOPHY. And now most unbelievable things : they philosophy is ā€œ no news no shoes ā€œ and ā€œeco style, please bring back to your home country plastic trash ā€œ but We found a huge dump of plastic garbage near their eco-center where is board "there is no entrance please Ā« šŸ˜…

ā€œNo shoesā€ Really ? Did you make the wood safe ? Rusty nails stick out everywhere. Totally dangerous! The wood is rough and uneven, and I kept getting bruised fingers all the times.

SPA . They don't even have their own SONEVA spa. There is SIX SENSES SPA .

My conclusions: we did not see any exclusive and special things. There is no style, design and luxury things . There is no amazing service . And its the most expensive resort in Thailand! What I understand - they have good marketing that takes on the hook šŸŖ rich customers, catch them with an interesting idea, but in fact it is...

Paradisiac & luxurious beach vacation My family just returned from Soneva Kiri where we have spent a delightful week. We used their private jet return, from Bangkok and the journey was as smooth as silk throughout and both ways. Staff at BKK Airport were outstanding so were our Captains. On arrival, we were met by Khun Fern our barefoot assistant and transfered from the airport by boat to the resort, a mere 10 minutes away. We were met by resort staff to guide us through their facilities and ensure we were comfortable and our experience to be premium at all times. Khun Fern guided us through our large villa facilities and ensured for my family to be as familiar and knowledgeable of all facilities. Checkin was smooth and done in style, all very private and elegant. The resort facilities are first class and will cater for the most discerning Guests, might it be families, couples or groups. From breakfast to lunch or dinner, service, quality and experience will fulfil again to the very best and knowledgeable travelers. A special mention to The View restaurant and its Chef which was remarkable on our 3 visits. All restaurants and staff are simply wonderful. The choice for meals will again meet expectations and fulfill to all Guests needs. The beach facilities and its service from the staff were top notch too., with all comfort and activities to ensure the very best experience for everyone. Service overall is met in style and very personal so Guests can experience concierge services at all times where requests are always met in style, promptly and private. On this section, we have to make a very special mention for Khun Fern who was another family member for us. Khun Fern, you have made our family stay a magical experience that we will keep deep in our hearts šŸ’• and we look forward to return and see you again. Well done for your kind assistance, you are just superb. My entire family send you their love from Spain and wish you the very best. The accommodation is very private and we felt in our own little slice of paradise and oasis. We had 2 electric golf carts made available for our family use so could move around the resort facilities at all times. We would like to congratulate and thank all the staff members for a delightful experience and stay, If you are looking for an experience exceeding your expectations for a luxuriius beach vacation with the very best services met with elegance in all fields, then look no further as Soneva will cater and meet all expectations for a unique and very memorable stay. We will return soon to be your Guests and let know our family and friends about the best beach resort in the world. All the very best to you all and keep the magic...

The place feels very jungle-like, which is quite unique and the team is very friendly and attentive.

The beachfront villa was easily the largest I’ve ever stayed in, even compared to much more expensive options.

The Japanese/French chef's restaurant stands out significantly above the others—it was excellent. I also appreciated the availability of sugar-free drinks like Lemon Fizz.

The cheese room offers a good variety of cheeses, and the gym facilities are very good. The location has plenty of spots to explore, including multiple restaurants. The fruit platters were delicious. As for the pizza Margherita at the general restaurant, it was mediocre—a 5/10.

The sticky rice was the best I’ve ever had, even compared to dishes I’ve tasted in multiple countries. The beach is stunning, and the team paid attention to details, leaving us with soulful memories.

Snorkeling was mediocre, as there wasn’t much to see, though the boat trip itself was very pleasant and relaxing since we were the only ones on board.

The chocolate room was ok/mediocre, also the macarons didn’t live up to typical standards. Breakfast was average and could be improved in terms of overall quality.

Their eco-conscious principle of minimizing waste regarding water is very interesting and admirable. However, the water tasted a bit unusual compared to what we’re used to back home. We didn’t experience any issues or symptoms, so if the water quality is indeed superior, their efforts for the environment are truly nice.

The tennis court was decent, and the shops had some cute items. The spa was also ok, not great, not terrible, it was an ok experience.

The team’s English skills could have some improvement for more in-depth, engaging conversations about culture and different other topics. Some spoke very well, some barely understandable.

The check-in method should be studied by anyone interested in learning hospitality. We were asked about everything—pillow types, food preferences, and so on—and everywhere, they paid attention to how we communicated in the beginning. This was also a unique feature we hadn't encountered before in such detail.

One downside was our initial stress due to learning that a similar plane had crashed a few months ago (Thai Flying Service Flight 209), leading to passenger fatalities. Although our flight was flawless, we had shared our concerns beforehand, and the team’s response was quite dry and lacked any effort to reassure or explain.

We recommend this place, and if they improve certain areas, it could easily become a must-visit destination. The manager seemed to be a very open and nice person, and I wish him the best of...
