Our stay at RoomQuest THEVA on Koh Samui started with a bit of confusion. An issue with communication made finding it tricky, leaving us briefly unsure if we’d made the right decision staying here. Thankfully, Tom, the owner, addressed the issue sincerely the next morning, and his apology set a positive tone for the rest of our stay.
The hotel is very new, which meant a few hiccups but these felt more like teething problems than recurring issues. If you’re reading this a month or after I've posted this review, they’ve likely been resolved. Its remote location is both a charm and a challenge. Confident moped riders can manage the steep hills, but taxis are pricey, and drivers often don’t know the address yet. That said, the stunning views and serene atmosphere more than compensate.
Sugar, the manager, was a highlight of our visit. She made us feel right at home and went out of her way to accommodate our vegan diet, a rare and appreciated effort. The room itself was luxurious - plush bedding, breathtaking views even from a 'garden-facing' balcony, and night skies filled with stars.
Luke and Leia, the resident dogs, added a lovely, homely touch to the experience. Spending New Year’s Eve here was also special, with a small, intimate party hosted by Tom that captured the hotel's warm and welcoming vibe.
Despite minor early-stage issues, we’d happily return. This place is a hidden gem that’s sure to become even more...
Read moreI loved our stay at the Theva Resort, which is high up the hill amongst the coconut trees, it is a really beautiful location. When we arrived, I was amazed by the breathtaking view of Nathon Harbour, such a contrast from the bustling Bangkok! The rustic charm of the luxury huts made a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. I appreciated the thoughtful touches, especially the Spa Bathtub outside on the balcony, where I spent many a late afternoon soaking and watching the sunsets. Inside there was a comfortable four poster bed, television and of course air conditioning, the bathroom with a ceiling lined with bamboo continued the rustic theme was spacious with two sinks and a shower. The swimming pool was located next to a decked covered bar area with great seating area making the most of the amazing jungle views. The whole resort was lit by pretty lighting at night. Tom and the staff were truly attentive hosts and could arrange transport, although we had a car to explore. We visited the nearby Hin Lad and Na Muang Waterfalls with elephants and freshwater swimming! Down at Nathon harbour, we went to the night food market and were lucky enough to be there for the “Chak Phra Festival” with lots of floats with Buddhist monks giving blessings. From the harbour we had a boat trip to the national park Mae Ko Island which was another highlight of our trip. All in all a wonderful holiday at Theva we...
Read moreTHEVA is a great resort with large rooms well equipped. The cabins are spread across the resort and surrounded by a garden. It is a very peaceful place. The view is also amazing ! I also loved the laid-back vibe… it is nothing pretentious. There is an amazing view from the reception. It is also where they serve breakfast and food during the day. You will always find over there someone ready to answer your questions (in English and French) and make your stay as pleasant as possible. For example, they noted that we had a flat tire, they arranged to get it inflated before we even knew it was flat ! They also arranged a crib for our baby and assigned us a room close to the entrance to make it easier to come in and out ! The pool is great but it was a bit green while we were there and the pump was noisy. But it is a great pool with a crazy view ! The road to get to the resort is paved, we had no issue getting there by car. We are happy we...
