It's a messy, rustic, modest, scruffy resort, but lovely as well. The owning family is friendly and, apparently, you will be entered as a family member. Thanks to them you will notice less the problems of this resort. Why I said apparently? Because, at the end of the day, you are a guest with money and they desperately need your money. If you wouldn't have money they wouldn't treat you like a friend, that's must be clear. Staying here means not looking at the comforts as usual, nor the precision in the service offered. At Koh Siboya, in general, don't expect restaurants, bars, cocktails, colored lights, loud music. At Racha resort you may expect good food, light bulbs turned off at 10pm, silence and darkness like nowhere else, the sympathy of Mrs Mai and other people willing to help you as much as possible. Everyone will be happy to give you instructions and support. You will simply have to melt with them, to be simple and light. Very basic bungalows for 400 (fan, cold water). Better bungalows for 600 (fan, cold water). Top bungalows for 800 (fan, air con, warm water). Honestly air con isn't essential, because in the night isn't warm. During the day it is hot, but you can lay down on the hammocks of the garden, close to the beach and you will have a good day. A motorcycle is available for rent daily even if you actually don't need it. Walking along the beach during the low tide is more exciting than a tour on motorcycle. They don't have wifi, but the AIS signal is good enough. There are 2 restaurants close to the Racha resort, both are good. There is a resort nearby which is more clear, clean, organized. It looks much better, but I can't say good or bad about it because I...
Read moreI arrived here at night about 19.30. Shouted around but nodody came out. Same story at thai west resort. The rooms here were unlocked so i let myself in one and slept on the floor with a blanket and pillow. No electric or water but was happy to find a closed space with no mosquitos. Siboya really is dead at this time of year. Don't count on finding a room on the island if you don't give somebody advance notice and arrive late. I left...
Read moreWe loved our little oasis at Racha Sunset. Koh Sriboya is a little island off the coast of Krabi. Home to a small mostly Muslim village. Racha Sunset has a great beach with calm waters, a relaxed vibe, and wonderful shade. There is an onsite massage therapist that is amazing! The food is delicious with such a wide variety. And there are excursions to fish, feed animals, snorkel, or go to the lobster farm. We are so thankful for...
