Marigold Aonang Resort & Restaurant มารีโกลด์ อ่าวนาง รีสอร์ท — Hotel in Krabi Province

I would advise anyone to stay away from this place. It is almost impossible to find in the evening and the owners have done nothing to assist guests to find it or provide service in any way. There are no directions or signs at night. When I realized it was impossible to find, I rang the owners and they told me they would send some staff. A lady appeared on the dirt road that leads to this place out in the middle of nowhere. Then I saw a car reverse out of a house and I was asked by the lady "are you trying to come here?" I replied "I don't know what this place is". The man who had reversed the car said "but the owners are very nice, they have gone away" I replied "no they're not". He then very arrogantly and aggressively replied "go stay someplace else". I got to my room and there was no internet because it had been turned off. Also be aware that there is no privacy whatsoever between the rooms because there is an interconnecting door between your room and the one beside you, which means you are virtually sharing your room with the other guests. After taking a shower the bathroom smells like a septic tank. The air conditioning, when put on the mildest possible setting, sends a very strong draft directly onto where you're sleeping. To top it all off, after I arrived I found that the rooms were being offered far cheaper than what I had paid. I have lived in Thailand for 10 years and I've been everywhere in the country, so of course I am very flexible, but this place...

My sister and I stayed in the second room closest to the lobby.We definitely should have looked at the one star reviews because they are very accurate when it comes to the smaller rooms on the property. It really does reek of mold and mildew after taking a shower and made my sister’s allergies go insane after a couple nights. Sleeping was unbearable because of the smell and we could not even ventilate the room because even with keeping the door shut 99% of the time, we had to kill at least 10 mosquitoes a day. I have no idea where so many were coming from until we noticed that the door has a small gap that even when shut would let bugs come through. (Assuming the vents were not the issue) The owners were very kind despite the room being less than optimal. They were always quick to give us water or medicine/toiletries when requested and even gave us a ride to the city when there were no Grab drivers available. We are both cat people so we loved interacting with all the cute kitties on the property so the two star rating is for the good service...

We had a really lovely stay here, the staff are so accommodating and kind, they gave us fruit in when we arrived and then again in the morning which was lovely. There's a kitchen/eating area with tea and coffee and we bought yogurt and fruit to have for breakfast. The bed is really comfortable and you're far away from the town so it's really peaceful and quiet. We slept so well here.

I would say as a little bit of feedback for the owners: The bathroom does tend to smell pretty bad after having a shower, just seems like putting a bit of cleaner down the drain would be a huge help. Also the shower isn't designed very well - it's pointed straight at the shower curtain and in order to get under the shower you kind of have to stand in the curtain itself, which isn't ideal when you want to feel clean.
