Huentai Resort — Hotel in Mae Hong Son Province

This little resort lies a bit off the mainroad, which is an advantage as it is extremely quiet. Coming in from the North turn left at the police station, then, after another 500m, left again (there's a signboard). As it is located on a hill you get a nice view (great sunsets) and almost always a gentle, cool breeze. The rooms have been renovated lately and new rooms have been added. Rooms are aircon (fridge and free wifi provided) and for 600Bt a good deal. There are also larger bungalows for families, made of teak-wood. The place looks extremely clean and inviting, natural and romantic. We booked 2 nights here and only stayed one due to the amount of insects!! The place itself is looks amazing, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and the host who who speaks very little English was friendly and helpful. It was very hard to find though because is about 1km off a main road with no signs suggesting where?! The Main issue was just the insects, which because you are overlooking a Forrest out of your bungalow, you get a lot!! The room hasn't got any protection for this and has holes under doors and in the walls which make for good entry and hasn't got anywhere to help with mosquito net!! We tied ours off the air-con machine and curtain rails :) if they sorted this out the resort would have been ideal and we would been able to...

Had booked another place for 3nites but moved on after 2nd nite and came here. Located far from everything; food, shops...but the vide is very peaceful. The directions on google map is wrong..get on to Thanon Panglor Nikom road and go towards the end till u see a government building on your left(you will pass by 2 road/food stalls on right) turn left uphill when u see a white color sign in thai. Strong wifi, clean rooms & bed sheets, bed was very comfy. Fridge in room and a 'balcony', 3 english channels, free coffee at reception + hot water avail 24hrs a day.
