This family-operated resort is in the middle of the jungle therefore the surrounding scenery and nature is fantastic. Big plus for the location. We had our own little house near to the central lobby & restaurant. It was quiet when we were there, I think on the second day we were the only guests. The food was ok though you had to order in advance and not the entire menu was translated to English. The staff did not speak English, so we were lucky to have our Thai guide with us to translate. A couple of remarks:|- The balcony with relaxing chairs and outdoor bath/shower is great, we really came to full relaxation there|- the room is a bit dated and missing some basic things. A decent bath mat for the floor would be nice instead of those brown carpets that are probably not washed in between guests... also we just had 2 towels to shower, none for your hands or face. Also no soap to wash hands and instead of napkins/tissues we were simply provided with more toilet paper. These seem very cheap solutions that could be improved at low cost to give the hotel a bit more allure.|- the sheets had old stains on them, so maybe consider to replace them at some point.. it makes the place feel dirty while it was ok clean|- Our hot water did not work. We reported it in the morning and expected it to be fixed during the day, but in the evening it was still not done. We reported it again at dinner and nothing was done. After dinner we asked the third time, they finally came to check it, concluding after tugging the tap for 10 minutes that the water indeed was not getting warm. Mechanic could not be arranged at 8pm so we asked whether it was possible to shower in the adjacent cottage. We got the key for that and got ready for bed but all of a sudden there was a knock on the door and we were asked to pack our bags and move to the other room all together, which made no sense as we were about to check out early the next morning anyway and it made no sense for them to dirty two beds/rooms. This was a bit strange and embarrassing as we were already in sleep clothes when they came to us. luckily our guide convinced them that we stayed in our original room.|- Apparently it’s normal in Thailand that they check your room while you wait at the desk to check out. We consider this a bit distrustful (maybe a cultural thing, I don’t know) but we are happy they did since we forgot something in the room that they...
Read morewe just spent the weekend here at Rabiangprai Valley. We had two bungalows side by side adjacent to a small stream. Outdoor bath and shower and small terrace - rooms 5 and 6.Beautiful views out over the mountains and across to the nearby reservoir - which is huge. Very green and quiet. Great staff. There is nothing nearby which suited us fine. The perfect antidote the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. A comfortable 2-2.5 hours drive from Bangkok via the township of Nakhon Nayok.and then another 18km to the resort. Loads of things to do -ATV, archery, bicycles, bushwalking, kayaking or just do nothing. There is a small pool with a small water slide ideal for younger kids. ||||The Good - so green, clean, quiet. Great staff.Food is fantastic and very affordable. All Thai food so no western food.||||Not so good - the beds are firm, well actually they are rock hard - so be warned. The breakfast is pretty ordinary. Toast, jam, some fruit, instant coffee/tea, rice porridge, fried egg, ham and sausage. a pretty standard Thai hotel breakfast. Next time I'd probably take my own cereal and bread but really that is a small quibble. ||||The Really Bad - there is no really bad. It is a lovely,...
Read moreSpent 2 week-nights at this resort and would say if you are looking for a natural, remote, quiet place this is it. There are no neighbors unless you include heavily forest clad hills, and a lake which appeared to be full of fish, as neighbors. A really different style of resort with basic but adequate facilities, friendly staff and "okay" food.||Here though are a few things on the downside which if you are just looking for nature should not be a concern anyway.||Our bed was "Thai style" very hard and the room could have done with a few simple furniture additions like a chair or shelf. My phone signal from "TRUE" was strong till about 100 metres from the resort gate then gone;other phone servers worked though. The resort wi-fi was available but very weak. Despite seeing a very large satellite dish there; the TV only came up with about 6 Thai only channels;suppose that's...
