Apart from River Retreat Mom chailai has 2 more properties in Kanchanaburi and Pattaya.||You need your own transportation to reach the resort. The resort is built on huge acres of land. Nice Greenary with many trees and flowers around the resort. They have single and double decker Boat house. They have standard rooms also. Clean rooms. Breakfast was standard ( Thai and ABF) you can choose any one. Good swimming pool. Their river side restaurant serves very delicious Thai food. Apart from just to relax and swim in the resort there is nothing else to do as this city (village) is popular for temples. Wat(Temple) Lamphaya is close to the resort. The rooms are nice, and the place is set in nice rounds. Perhaps a great place once, but the whole place now has a derelict feel. A vast, grand place, bereft of its soul.||||1) The service is non-existent, to the point of being insultingly bad. Requests are simply ignored or passed to other people (who also don't care), with no follow up.||||2) The restaurant (with nowhere else to eat nearby) has good Thai food, but closes at 7 pm||||3) Forget about a lie in - the breakfast service closes at 9 am||||4) Need Wi-fi as advertised. Eine wunderbare Idee, Bemühung die langsam in Vergessenheit geraten ist. "Mom Chailai" - Prinzessin Yugala - ist die thailändische Cinderella, die als junges Mädchen die Königliche Hoheit Prinz Bhanuband Yugala heiratete. Nach dem Tod des Prinzen, investierte Mom Chailai unter anderem in dieses Resort. Dabei spielte die einstige Leidenschaft des Prinzen für Boote (seine klassische Yacht findet sich als Einbau im Restaurantgebäude) und die Region, in der Mom Chailai geboren wurde, eine große Rolle. Es ist eine Reise in die Vergangenheit, die mit sehr viel Liebe und Leidenschaft in das gesamte Resort einfloss. Zum einen ist dort das Bootshotel, bestehend aus ca. 15 klassischen Dschunken, die zu Appartements umgebaut wurden, zum anderen gibt es hier im grünen liegende Familienvillen, die so langsam dem Zerfall anheim fallen. Genauso wie das Hauptgebäude, das auf charmante Art und Weise Erinnerungsstücke des Prinzen und der Prinzessin präsentiert. Alles in allem ein sehr charmanter Ort, der feinfühliges Investment und kluges Marketing benötigt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, leider aber depremiert und sehr überfordert. Das Restaurant öffnet nur auf Wunsch, ansonsten wären die Betriebskosten wohl zu hoch. Das akzeptierten wir. Die Anfahrt zum Resort ist desillusionierend. Man bekommt das Gefühl, dass das Resort inmitten eines Industriegebietes und einem Solarpark liegt. Dies ist jedoch vergessen, wenn man vom Charme des Resorts (es war zuerst da) aufgesogen wird. Wir waren verzaubert! Von der leidenschaftlichen Weise, mit der Mom Chailai hier Ihren Traum wahr werden ließ. Ein idealer Ort, wenn man die Geschichte der Prinzessin kennt.
