We were here for 10 days to attend a wedding and the groom had checked this place out and booked it for us. The staff at reception asked us to check if the bed was too hard for us, as has been reported in previous reviews. We did and indeed it was too hard, even though we have a very firm mattress at home. The problem was quickly corrected by the addition of a special pad that was immediately installed. You do have to pay a little extra for the pad, 200 bhat per night. We had a 5th floor room with a view of the lake, which gave us a great place to watch all the people exercising, walking, running, riding bikes after work in the evening. Aside from the bed issue, the room is great. It is large, lots of storage space, nice big bathroom with lots of counter space for your bathroom things as well as an excellent, efficient air conditioner. We had breakfast included and it was very good, with western and Thai items (which varied daily) and lots of fresh fruit. Coffee was strong, Thai coffee but not bad. Staff in the hotel were all great and very pleasant and helpful but with not much English or French. The location of the place is a bit far from the centre of Korat but we had a regular tuk-tuk driver who cheaply and easily solved that problem for very little cost. You don't really want to drive in this city anyway. The hotel shares a pool and fitness centre with an apartment building next door but we did not use these facilities but they looked nice. ||There is a great, 3 km path around the lake which is used in the morning and evening for exercise and it is very well used.| I used it 4-5 times myself. the path is closed during the hot parts of the day but you can still use it from the ends of the wall fence where there are parking lots. ||There are two very good Thai restaurants just 200 m and 300 m from the hotel towards the Wat. They are easily walkable even when it is very hot as it was when we were there. One of the restaurants specializes in my fav Thai dish, laab. There is also a well stocked 7-11 store only 50 m from the hotel entrance for all your snacks and other items. ||All in all, i think the reviews of this place are too harsh and focus too much on a hard bed problem which is easily corrected. The location away from the quite polluted city centre and near the lake is an advantage in my book. Walking with Thais in the evening is great exercise and you may make a Thai exercise friend who will talk to you...
Read moreVery easy check inn, Room is a great size and clean, Don't expect 4 star quality to me for the price it was a very good 3 star,||The location was great for me because the in-laws lived minutes away, There was a 7-11 just outside and just over the road from 7-11 was a lovely park which openend in mornings and afternoons if you are a fitness person.||I noticed on Trip advisor location map it shows the hotel resort in the wrong place , it is on the side of Bung ta Lua park.||Breakfast cannot comment as i not a morning person, The swimming pool was good where you need a ticket from the reception on the day to enter, Also next to the pool is a gym but i never used.||Wifi was fast enough for me as never had a problem watching videos on my laptop, ||There are a few restaurants nearby which was easy walking distance, I did try a few and very high quality food and one of the best Leo beer i ever had in Thailand.||Overall i would defo come here again as said before the location was perfect for me, In car i would say 10 minutes drive to centre of town. Also i enjoyed the big rooms so if the Kids popped round to say hello there was plenty...
Read moreAfter touring the Kwanruen PARK, we decided to stay at the Kwanruen RESORT. The PARK has a great lobby, but needs some serious work in the rooms and hallways (e.g. replace the carpet, etc.)||||The RESORT had connecting rooms that are sold together on Booking.com as a "Family Room". It was just what we needed and was good enough for our one-night stay.||||The beds are a bit softer than many hotel beds in Thailand (though still fairly hard), so just workable for this big farang.||||The Resort was reasonably priced...and the more we got to know the place, we understood why. The walls are thin, and the doors couldn't keep out a fly, but we had no issues with noise or safety.||||The included breakfast buffet was good enough, though I doubt we would have returned to it a second morning.||||Among the various hotels we visited in Nakhom Ratchasima, this one...
