The pictures looked great, and the online reviews were positive. So, we booked this place for 10 days (due to location, and in case we had to quarantine - nice to have an outdoor area).||||The location is out of the way, but suited us since we had access to cars and family lives nearby.||||Positives: units are big, there is a kitchen, there is a private pool (if you like that sort of thing)||||Negatives common to many local properties:||- poor water pressure (you'll have to rub a showerhead on your body to wash :) ),||- poorly maintained AC (blows non-stop, irrespective of the set temperature, never shuts off - so your choice is to be too hot or too cold)||- overall poor maintenance (for example dimmer switches, but half of the bulbs non-dimmable, will flash like fire alarm if you try to dim them)||- Shower in the open next to the toilet, no door or curtain, no floor separation (so must shower standing in the bathtub)||- In the 2nd room - AC compressor installed just outside the bedroom (which has a giant single-pane window behind the main bed, so no sound isolation). At night your choice is to run AC on a minimum and be hot, or turn it up and listen to the compressor noise. ||||Negatives specific to this property:||- Giant tropical bird enclosure next to 1 br units (avoid unit 7), these birds will scream non-stop from sunrise to sunset. Also significant mosquito problem in those same 1br units (may be related to bird enclosure standing water?)||- Breakfast lackluster, we looked at it once and decided not to partake||- Sound isolation not ideal - could hear TV in the "villa" that shared the wall with us, and party noises from the other side of the fence||- "Gym" is a joke - none of the plug-in treadmills/elipticals worked. Mechanical exercise bike was the only usable device (but I had to borrow a set of pliers to fix the seat). Several exercise machines in different states of disrepair, none usable. All of that crammed into a tiny room with tile floors (so can't use weights either).||- Because of the bird screams and mosquito problem we asked to be moved from our initial 1br 2 bath (important) unit. We were moved into a 2br 2bath unit (with each bathroom accessible from its respective bedroom). The next day staff at front desk informed me that since we initially booked a 1 br, we must "lock the door" to one of the bedrooms in the new unit and not go in there, as "we did not pay for it" (mind you, unit sizes are about the same, and 1br had an extra sitting room with a bed - so they were essentially equivalent). ||||I countered that the original unit had 2 baths and if we locked one of the bedrooms, we would also lose access to the 2nd bath. Nothing was said, but for the rest of our stay (10 days), cleaners pointedly avoided cleaning the 2nd bathroom (never even picked up the towels off the floor). ||||That type of passive-aggressive mgmt is silly, and certainly not something that would create goodwill to come back (I...

Read morePeaceful Escape in a Private Pool Villa – A Hidden Gem in PhuketOur stay at this boutique resort in Phuket was absolutely the kind of escape we were looking for. We booked a private pool villa, and it exceeded our expectations in both comfort and privacy. The villa was beautifully designed—modern, clean, and had that perfect indoor-outdoor tropical vibe. The pool was crystal clear and the garden space felt like our own little sanctuary. The staff here were incredibly warm and helpful, always greeting us with a smile and assisting with everything from transport to food recommendations. They even arranged a private floating breakfast in our pool one morning, which was such a unique experience. The resort itself is small and quiet, so it never felt crowded. It’s tucked away from the busy tourist zones, but still close enough to explore places like Patong or Kata Beach with a short drive. We rented a scooter directly from the resort which made getting around super easy.Food was delicious—especially the local Thai dishes—and they also accommodated our requests for in-villa dining on a couple of nights. If you’re looking for privacy, relaxation, and a touch of luxury without the chaos of big resorts, this place is a gem. Perfect for couples or anyone wanting to unwind in peace.Will...
