As other reviewers have wrote the rooms are very different and what you get will depend on your budget. We payed 450 baht a night for a basic room at ground level. It was clean and the bed quite comfortable. Sound insulation however is terrible - you could hear every word from the people next door. Read that the owners were super helpful and friendly - cannot confirm that. They were okay but not the nicest people we have met and the lady did speak very bad English. We wanted to rent their scooter for ten days, had asked if it was possible, to which the answer was yes - on the day we wanted to start the ten days they told us no that was not possible… they said they could arrange another scooter from someone else but that would have been 300 baht a day which is a total rip off - all in all okay, liked the pool and the location at the bottom of the mountain, but customer service should...

Read moreWhat an experience! The family that runs the guest house is super welcoming and helps you wherever they can. Perfect English, spoken by two mothertongues. They organised a motorcycle for us and gave us lots of information about Patthalung. The owner's sister runs the restaurant next to the guesthouse which is famous in town for the Pappaya salad - do not miss that one! Her brother owns the little shop next to it where you can get drinks and snacks. If you want some "western" food, the guest house‘s coffeshop also offers Burgers and fries or Spaghetti Bolognese. And you can swim in the clean and refreshing pool! The guesthouse is located directly at the mountain and just five minutes walk from the trainstation, where you can have dinner at the night market. Our room was spacious, clean and well equiped with fridge, AC, fan, TV and free...
