House and Caff (Bar) Resort is located on a reasonably busy dual carriageway, ten minute’s walk to Rawai Beach. Jack Bar is located at the front of the premises where you then walk through, past a small entertainment area, a swimming pool and then on through to the cabins. The cabins are bright and airy, a reasonable size for two people and spotlessly clean. The double bed is very comfortable for a good nights sleep, there is a small cupboard (with hair dryer inside), a bar fridge, chill out chair and small, wall mounted TV. The bathroom is typical Thai wet bathroom, the shower pressure and temperature controller worked fine and drainage of water was good. AC in the room looked relatively new, operating quietly and efficiently. With the premises also operating a bar out front you would think it may get noisy in the evening but no noise could be heard. If staying here I would recommend hiring a car or bike as apart from Rawai Beach there is not much else in the area within easy walking distance. For decent restaurants or cafes you need to head to Rawai Beach as there are none nearby, only Thai street food type places. There are however numerous bars within easy walking distance. There is a Super Cheap Mart just down the road (cash or scan only, no card) and a 711 just a little further down. Staff at House and Caff were friendly enough and they seem to attract a fair few French guests, perhaps due to the owner being French. I would have liked to have given them a higher score but there were a few short comings in my opinion that need addressed. Firstly, the WIFI, the signal is very hit and miss which is very frustrating. There is no tea/coffee making amenities available in the room, no kettle and hence no tea/coffee provided. I enjoy two or three cups in the morning and had to buy from the bar each morning at a cost of fifty baht. There is no table and chair in the room to set up a lap top, also frustrating if you have a lot of PC work to do. Over all I enjoyed my stay and can recommend House and Caff for a...
Read moreI wanted to write a positive review but I'm a astounded by the attitude of the front desk staff, (receptionist). I once asked could she change 1980's Brit pop CD as It constantly on loop repeat all week, I was met with a inhospitable response in the form of discontent facial expressions and hand gestures. It was all a bit too much for her that day as she was probably still too busy playing on her phone. ||Side notes.||Rooms are clean & cosy just enough for two people||T.v. channels are terrible||Free Wi-Fi is great||Room security is questionable. Although the grounds are surveillanced by CCTV there's only a small door bolt fixing and push handle lock to prevent any outside intruder and without there being a securely bolted down safe in the room I don't feel completely comfortable leaving anything of value unattended. ||Breakfast non including in the prices anymore.||Clean towels and bedding every day bar Sundays.||Shower hot water and pressure are very good except the holding bracket is merely useless. Keeps falling down.||Grounds and swimming pool are well kept. Beautiful views from the roof top.||Room maid is very pleasant, helpful and trust worthy. ||Outside kitchen facilities and appliances available which are very clean and hygienic.||Location is 10- 15 minutes from kata karon on motorcycle. 35 minutes to central phuket festival mall. ||And finally BEWARE of RAWAI RENTALS opposite. My girlfriend was verbally abused by the owner in a foul mouthed out- burst for no good reason. The two women staff who cook food are very friendly, but the big boss is very undesirable and do a disservice to Rawai. I would advise everyone to stay well clear of her motorcycle...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for 4nights. The Hotel is located in a busy, 4 lane, main road but looked like a nice place.|When we arrived, nothing was explained about the hotel, she walked in the direction of our room, not waiting for us to put our shoes back on after entering the reception. Once in the room we pointed out to the staff that our linens were dirty and she refused to change them, mentioned that these sheets are the "same thing every night". When sheets were finally changed, we were threatened that if we damaged them we need to pay for them to be replaced. She did not speak a word of English, instead useing Google translate, and her actitutte was negative and unhelpful. Once she changed the sheets we discovered that the bathroom towels were filthy and the bathroom had not been cleaned (hairs snots and soap residue) Outside the room , there was a cleaning check list that showed sheets were not changed for 3 days. We decided to change hotels as we were getting no solutions for any of our issues. We asked to speak with the owner but we were told "the big boss is not coming today" although she called several times, who we believe was the boss, she would not let us speak with them. They also refused a refund -booking was prepaid through Expedia. We have never experienced such bad customer service before.||P.S. there is a 2000 quid fine for flushing toilets paper...
