Tamnanpar Resort — Hotel in Rayong Province

The place is nice, clean and relaxing until you check out. Why because upon checking in I got a written price quote for the rooms and for the days I planed on staying and checking out. However once it came time to check out I got my bill print out only to find I had been charged almost 2500. Thai Bhat more then agreed too. After almost 4 hours of discussion with many layers of management my card was refunded. I believe this only happened because I told the manager I would dispute the entire charge so they would not get paid at all. I then showed her that I had video of the intwraction as well as pictures of both the written estimate and final bill, which she had taken and refused to return. The resort is nice and relaxing. The outside resturant is really wonderful and with the exception of checkout customer service was superior. I would go back if in the area but only for the resturant NOT the resort. So the resturant gets 5 stars and the resort a star. So with my slide rule math I gave this a 4 star rating by subtracting the resorts star from the resturants...

We live quite locally so visit often, my kids and their friends love the water park. Usually we eat Thai food which has always been good quality and not bad value, but today we tried a bit of the more Western food on the menu. It was expensive and disgusting! I ordered a chicken salad which included just a few vegetables which were not very fresh, in fact some of the lettuce was mouldy. The chicken consisted of about 5 pieces of sliced chicken breast that had no seasoning and had clearly been frozen after it was cooked and sliced. My daughter's burger was not much better, the bin was stale and crumbled when she took a bite and the fries had been re-heated.. Not good! We still haven't worked out what meat the burger was. My son ordered a margarita pizza the base had no colour or flavour and was soggy, the toppings were not much better.. We were very disappointed and will not order Western food here again. Very nice resort, staff is very attentive. Resort is very clean, water park looks very clean and well kept. Breakfast was good, with western and Thai food options. Songtaw to breakfast from rooms so you don't have to walk. Rooms are very big, the only reason I don't give the room 5 stars is because of the very large window in the shower, letting in lots of heat in direct sunlight and bathroom gets very very hot and air conditioner cannot keep up with the size of room with direct sun. But that is a minor issue really. Beautiful lake around the property and swimming pools around all the rooms. Location was good, just a short drive to the beach and markets.
