MJ Hotel — Hotel in Sakon Nakhon Province

PROS: friendly staff, |Good location but noisy. There is a day and night market across the road along with 7-11. Very handy but with this comes noise 24hr a day. |Room is big enough and clean with small balcony and excellent AC. ||CONS: quite a few. |Rooms lack basics like tea/coffee making facilties, no safety deposit box and not even a safe for the visitors at reception. This means leaving valuables in your room or carrying them. |* No Pool|No hot water. We managed to get Luke warm water the day before we left. The rest of the time it was cold, even after running form 30 minutes. |Breakfast was THE WORST I have ever experienced in an Asian hotel. No choice, not fresh, one tea bag for 3 litres of water. Literally have eggs, rice and maybe 1 or 2 other (poor) offerings. Fruit was generally one choice. ||Would I stay again? I’m not sure. They could make a few basic changes and I’d be happy to stay here again but I think the hotel @Sakon Nakhon will be a better option next time and only a few hundred metres away. +Clean, comfortable, basic room with good AC, cold fridge, kettle, small safe, tv, and balcony +Comfortable bed, plenty of lounging and work chairs +Lots of good natural light +Good lighting in room (could use one more to illuminate the table top area) and bath as well as good central hot water shower +Did not notice very much noise between rooms or floors, but could hear people in hallway if they were not considerate (not really any different than any other hotel anywhere) +On a busy street but did not notice any disturbing noise from traffic +Plenty of eating options nearby and night market/7-11 across the street +Easy to find massage shops and cafes nearby +can use free bicycle to tour around town and easy to use local Grab +kind, friendly staff making you feel welcome +daily water delivery and cleaning +wi-fi worked ok, but mostly used phone hotspot for internet access +good value for the money

-No kettle provided in room and ended up walking over to Big C and purchased one for $6 -Also could use some additional hangers and purchased some at Big C

This was my first stay at the Majestic and I was extremely pleased. The staff were very professional and accommodating upon my arrival. I asked to see a room before making my reservation. I was shown three (3) levels of room options. Each varied primarily by size. I selected the second level since I was staying for a week and knew that I would appreciate the added space for entertaining visitors. The unit had a bath tub and shower. There were some challenges with getting the water temperature right. It seemed to be either too hot or too cold. The hotel has a restaurant as the base of its second tower. The menu was adequate, and the food was good. The hotel also has a workout area. It’s not fancy but had a clean bathroom and a wide range of machines for resistance training. There were no stationary bicycles or treadmills when I visited. The location is excellent for access to the night market, a massage and a grocery store.
