Centara, Dusit Thani, Santhiya, Hilton... what do all these hotels have in common? Checking in with a Thai-government issued ID card is no problem. But that's not good enough for the Hop Inn in Trang. They demanded to see my passport, which of course I did not bring along from Bangkok. Why should I? For 14 years I've traveled all over this country, boarded flights, taken trains, and stayed in hundreds of hotels, and never once has anyone objected to my Thai driver's license. But here at the Hop Inn, standing with my 70-year parents, my 7-yr old child, my 2-month old baby, and a pile of luggage that our van driver hd just unloaded for us, I was sternly told that "if you don't have your passport, you cannot check in." Why? "That's our policy." I opened the email confirmation that they had sent me two weeks ago, and asked where is this policy? Why would they not tell me that before I departed from another province? The "manager" Khun Vivilailak said, "well that's a mistake, yes, but it's still our policy, so you still cannot check in without a passport." Very professional, Khun Vivilailak. Maybe you should contact the Centara, Dusit Thani, Santhiya, Hilton, etc. and teach them how they can improve to your top service standards set by the Hop...
Read moreJust arrived and their lobby no air conditioning(might out of order or did not turn on) but exactly hot at lobby area during check in. ||The front desk agent who checked me in looks new staff, taking long time for a process also doesn't clarify my booking as I used my point redemption. Printer itself got a problem then I have to leave my ID card there for sometime photo copy. ||This is not first time to stay this hotel and this brand however this time made me extremely disappointment with all those reason as I described.||Hope next time all the point would be improved and turn to pleasant...

This would greatly assist guests in obtaining information about local tourist attractions, especially considering the challenge of navigating Thai-language websites.
