KP Hotel — Hotel in Udon Thani Province

I am a well seasoned traveller and I have stayed here many times. My wife is from the village and we have property near by. I really like this Hotel and I don't think other comments are fair. I have never had a cold breakfast here. If I did I would tell someone and thet would have done something about it. Maybe they got up late or the buffet had been out for a long time ? The rooms are comfortable and the pool is nice. Its handy for the railway station but quite far from the town centre. They have tuktuk service outside so thats not a real issue. The cooking in the evenings is excellent. I haven't been for two years so we hope she is still there. I stayed at this hotel recently and was disappointed with the way pricing was handled. On the first day, I was charged 700 baht. When I asked about extending my stay, the price was suddenly raised to 850 baht — even though I was trying to book directly to support the hotel instead of using online platforms. After checking Agoda, I found the same room for 150 baht less per night.

The breakfast was underwhelming, especially for a hotel at this price point — even the orange juice wasn’t real. I was also told the hotel was full, which didn’t appear to be true.

in all fairness the kp hotel still offers large rooms with aircon and hot showers, a nice on-site restaurant, and excellent housekeeping. it is also conveniently located near highway 2, not far from udon thani, khon kaen, and kumphawapi.||however, it has been my recent experience that this establishment does not do a tremendous volume of business. the hotel is well-suited for conventions, weddings, etc. but the day to day amenities that i expect as a paying guest have suffered of late. in particular, the swimming pool is in need of attention, both in the repair and cleanliness areas.||the staff, while friendly, speaks little english and even when a native speaker made my taxi arrangements there was great confusion between the staff and taxi company.||despite the kp's proximity to where i need to be, i doubt i'll be...
