Tongan Beach Resort — Hotel in 'Utungake

I have stayed at the Tongan Beach Resort a number of times and really enjoy the property. We normally split our stay between here and another property (name not mentioned) and have done so for the last few years.||||As I have already written reviews previously on the property, I will make this brief.||||The accommodation is good and I particularly like the 2 bedroom family bungalow. Since last year, they have now built some newer and more modern rooms, located on the beach.||||The food I find is good and is particularly amazing, especially when they have had a delivery of fresh seafood.||||The staff overall are good, but sometimes there might be one or two who need to put on a bit more of a smile and appear that they like their job. At times, the drink service can be slow. The receptionist, Moa is always lovely and extremely helpful. The times that I have ran into the Managers of the property, they are friendly and welcoming.||||The location is not in town, but I like this. For some, this might not work. I would prefer to be out of town and it be a little quieter. I think it is about a 15 minute drive to town and the resort can organise your transfers to and from town if you want to go in and shop or go in for dinner etc.||||Each morning we would have an early swim at the beach, when the water was calm and before we would head out for our whale swims.||||Overall, I have nothing to complain about. My comment is, don't expect much and your expectations will be exceeded.||||Would I recommend the Tongan Beach Resort? Absolutely.||||Regards,||Cherie...

We stayed here after a sailing trip to relax and unwind before the long trip home. The Tongan Beach Resort was perfect for this. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a mini refrigerator as an added bonus. The walk in shower was great —- large and airy with a skylight to let the sun in. We could sit in the chairs on our deck and watch the sea. Better yet were the lounge chairs in the sand to relax, nap, and read. The food was good and there was a nice selection of both food and drinks They offer a lot of complimentary sports equipment, and we made use of the kayaks for a leisurely, enjoyable trip. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially Moa at the front desk. She always greeted us with a smile and went the extra mile to contact me to let me know I had left something in the room and is making arrangements to get it back to me. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we return to Tonga, as I definitely hope to do, we will return to the Tongan Beach Resort.
