A Dream Stay at Anantara Tozeur Sahara Resort!
Our stay at Anantara Tozeur Sahara Resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service that made our time in Tunisia truly unforgettable.
A special thank you to Nizar, the concierge, who went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our trip was seamless. He was always available with a smile, offering expert advice and coordinating everything from restaurant reservations to excursions with absolute ease.
We had the pleasure of having Mourad as our driver, who navigated the desert terrain with confidence and skill. His warmth and professionalism made every journey comfortable and enjoyable.
The dining experience was a true highlight of our stay. The entire restaurant staff made us feel at home, but we must especially acknowledge Amira, Walid, and Taha. Their impeccable service, attention to detail, and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to every meal. The cuisine itself was outstanding, and their recommendations were spot on every time.
Our interactions with the bell staff, particularly Amir and Tawfik, were equally delightful. They were always quick to assist with our luggage and offered helpful tips about the resort and surrounding area.
We must also commend Saddem from housekeeping for keeping our room immaculate throughout our stay. His meticulous care ensured that we always returned to a beautifully refreshed space after each day’s adventure.
A special thank you to Itzarak in reservations, who made the booking process smooth and stress-free, ensuring that every detail of our stay was perfectly arranged before we even arrived.
A heartfelt thank you to all the ladies at the front desk, especially Imen, for their warmth and efficiency. They were always there to assist with any inquiries, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our stay.
A shoutout to Sophian, the night manager, who ensured that even the late hours were attended to with the same level of care and professionalism. His dedication to guest satisfaction and attention to detail made our stay feel extra safe and comfortable.
Our time at the spa was an experience of pure relaxation, thanks to the expert hands of Khadeem and Souad. Their treatments were world-class, and they created a tranquil oasis that provided the perfect escape from the desert heat.
Lastly, a big thank you to our excursion guide, who led us on unforgettable adventures through the Sahara. Their passion for the desert and knowledge of the region made our excursions truly exceptional.
We are deeply grateful to the entire team at Anantara Tozeur Sahara Resort for their warmth, hospitality, and dedication to excellence. Obviously I was expecting some green handedness as the resort just opened this month but the experience so far has been so disappointing for the brand name it has. The hotel has to train its employees otherwise I don’t see why people have to pay $$$ for a third world class service.
Arrived by car - no one to greet us, we had to park then go to the reception and then they brought the car back.
Check-in process - slow and inefficient. One of the girls thought we came for a walk-in check-in. We arrived 15 mins short of 2pm and they had to call several times if we can do an early check in. The girl told us she will give us a tour of the resort. I have never had a tour like this! Absolutely no explanation whatsoever. She took us to the restaurant then told us that she doesn’t have the keys and asked us to wait for her. No mention of amenities, activities or even the breakfast time or dinner time.
Restaurants - the pool bar is not functioning. The guy had to go to the restaurant to get the menu and we had to wait so we told him to forget it. Then went to the restaurant. Ordered salad and lamb. Salad came with water and was missing chicken then was told that they are constantly changing the menu. Also some black plastic found in the salad. Lamb took an hour (no exaggeration) to come out. Nothing impressive. The service was bad at the restaurant. Staff hovering around you correcting your olive oil bottle but not being there when you need them.
Room - room is ok but the floor was dusty. They have lovely fire at the balcony. So we asked someone to clean the bed as it was full of sand and to light the fire up. Then a clerk showed up and started cleaning the desk. Took him much longer to understand what we requested. Room service was terrible. They don’t have the menu so someone on the phone would tell me what they have. They first told me they have chicken. So I asked for the price and she told me she will call me back which she never did. When I called back she told me chicken is not available. Then I asked for pasta and price and she told me she will call back in 2 seconds. I am writing this review now waiting for her call (lady it’s been 10 minutes). They should also invest in amenities such as bath salt. Hammam and sauna are not complementary.
This will be my last time visiting Anantara group’s property. Earlier this year I debated between Bulgari resort and Anantara resort and went for Bulgari resort where I had sublime experience and thank got I didn’t go...
Read moreThe resort is like an oasis in the middle of the desert, I really liked this atmosphere. When it’s windy it can be dusty but that’s part of the experience. We were greeted with a tasty fresh dattes juice and then accompanied to our room with an electric golf car. We got a nice surprise and got upgraded to a Sahara view villa. And by the way, I recommend paying a little more to get a Sahara view as you will be more isolated. However, we were really disappointed with the service regarding the price paid: -after we settled in our room, three times in a row (the first time was a mistake of the staff, second one to bring us bottles of water and the third time to bring us some dattes) there was a staff member entering the room without (or right after) knocking. And as there was no lock, we feel like we didn’t get any privacy. -we wanted to have lunch at the pool bar but as the resort was almost empty it took us a lot of time and some effort to find a staff member. Service and communication was bad and it took one hour to get our order. -at the pool there was no service at all, it would have been great to have someone take our drinks order. -we ask about excusions at the concierge but the guy was quit rude, we felt like we were bothering him. -service at the breakfast was bad, the table was not cleaned and we had to ask for curtains and water. The tea selection was very bad and the food selection was very rudimentary for that kind of hotel. -dinner service was slightly better but again we were expecting more. -the main disappointment was the fact that the hotel didn’t have air conditioning with daytime temperature hitting 35 degrees. We ask three times to get the air conditioning and every time we got some explanations about the fact that they are still in heating mode and they can’t switch it to cooling mode. We complained a last time at the checkout and we got the answer that we have to come back in summer to have the air conditioning. This is clearly not even a four stars service. We got lucky to have an upgrade and a late checkout otherwise we would have ask for a...
