I’d like to report Auberge Alferdaous as giving misrepresentation and it should be delisted from trip advisor platform to protect your reputation.||The room has an en-suite bathroom but there’s no hot water connected to the tap. I asked the staff who first explained that sometimes there’s no hot water. But then I showed him the tap (which is a DRY tap, ie no water coming out at all), he admitted “oh yes in your room there’s no water connected to the hot tap”. If knew this in advance I wouldn’t have booked this hotel.||This means I had to use their shared bathroom — which was not what I had paid for but I’m willing to compromise. But it turned out the shared bathroom has very weak water supply (both cold and hot) and the staff said I need to wait. And he doesn’t know when would the water supply come back. ||The staff agreed that I only need to pay for one night’s stay plus the booking commission. ||At the end I had to switch to another hotel (just 5 mins walk, Hotel Gazelle). It’s only TND60 or EUR20, it’s...
Read moreIt was a pleasant stay especially with very helpful habibi Majid! Hahaha…
😊 The overall of the hotel gives a very good vibe.
The breakfast is different for 2 days.
The owner, Majid absolutely one of the kindest man I’ve ever met. A very decent man and friendly to guests. I had great conversations with him that I learnt a thing or two about the culture.
☹️ The dust and sand. Since all the windows are opened 24/7, the dust and sand gets into the hotel a lot.
Maybe Majid needs to remove air conditioning or specify is extra charges if needs air conditioning. I, personally don’t sleep with air conditioning but on the listing, it stated the price includes air conditioning that can mislead guests understanding.
Maybe allow guests to choose whether breakfast is included in the room rate. Add on, needs to upgrade water system storage to tackle water shortage.
Overall, is still a...
Read moreStaff is very friendly and English speaking. Rooms are clean and quiet with not many people staying. Wifi is excellent with hot water and place for us to hang our laundry too. There is even a small kitchen if you wish to do cooking. This hotel is close to the louage station if you wish to visit the nearby towns like Ksar Ouled Soltane, Douriet, Hadada, etc.
You will need to take a taxi from the louage station to the hotel if you are coming from Medenine.
Just note that it doesn't say Auberge Alfredaous outside but there is an LED sign that says Hotel Ferdaous. There is a Hotel sign with a small door and reception. One thing you can look out for is a Free Water dispenser right outside the hotel.
Highly recommended and shoutout once again to our host who gave a very warm welcome and suggested good places to eat and...
