I got stuck in the city (no louage back to Tunis at 14.30 already) and spent a night here for 80 TND + 20 TND for dinner & breakfast. The shared areas where I've been and the room is fully renovated and everything functioning, soap, shampoo in the bathroom, towels, balcony looking at the olive groove. Dinner was 3 course and various options. My big problem is that the bank terminal was "broken", as I read comments I am not the only one... And then me as the guest have to walk 60 mins in complete darkness for the most part to an ATM machine and back and pay all extra charges to withdraw money. A hotel of this size and category should really have an Internet page and if this is how they would like to conduct its management it should be written with capital on the landing page that "CASH ONLY". Even in Tunisia bank cards are not a...

This hotel can handle a bus load of guests and was the only option we could find near Dougga. Nice fireplace in lobby. Room was warm enough with AC heat. They provided a water kettle on request. Room was an ordinary hotel room, nothing special, Unfortunately Wi-Fi was very slow, could not upload photos. Even though the facilities are nice, 200 TND still felt expensive, though breakfast is included. Bring cash…we suspect that their credit card machine purposely returns an error, because we have used our credit cards elsewhere in Tunisia with no difficulties. Our credit card company didn’t send us a declined transaction email after 3 failed attempts to charge...

Stayed here as part of a tour group to visit nearby Dougga. As I understand, it’s the only option. Room was nice but very basic. Bed was comfortable. Rooms could use a thorough cleaning. The balcony was covered with bird droppings and I found several dead bugs on the floor.||||The restaurant is known for wild boar. Despite my reluctance to try it, it was delicious- very tender.||||Walls are thin in the rooms but it was fairly quiet until dogs started barking when the call to prayer started at 5:30 am||||Breakfast schedule for 7 but dining room opened 10 minutes late. Hard boiled eggs, cheese, yogurt, prepackaged muffins and stale bread...

It seems that most tourists travelling to Dougga use Hotel Thugga as a lunch place after visiting the impressive Dougga Roman ruins. We wanted more time so decided to stay overnight at the hotel. It was a great decision. The hotel has excellent large rooms, it’s very clean, has lovely surroundings, is very close to the Roman ruins, offers reasonable breakfast & dinner and is a relaxing end to day of exploring ruins.

I just had a light lunch here. It was a tasty and healthy meal. Good soup, nice olive oil and harisa dip and a huge juicy orange for dessert. Surprisingly for an Islamist country there was "white boar" on the menu and a boar's head mounted on the wall. My guide said that in this part of the country they do eat this although they are muslim.
