We booked 3 rooms with private bathroom/toilet by phone for 1 night. As soon as we arrive the owner asked to pay, after that he told us that there was a problem with the water in the city and it should be back in an hour or at midnight. Out of the 3 rooms only 1 had a private bathroom/toilet, 1 even shared the reception toilet, the 2 non private bathroom/toilets had urine in them since they couldn't be flushed. The reception one even had well used soap and towels. We went out for dinner and walking around we saw several places cleaning the sidewalks with their hoses working. When we came back we found that someone had used the reception toilet (supposedly private) for a nice and stinky number 2.
The water didn't came back until 6am the next morning, at least it showed briefly for half a shower (my dad had to rinse the soap from his body with a mineral water bottle) unlike the owner who after been paid was never seen...

We stayed in the room Sultan. It was spacious with a queen bed, mini fridge, TV and wardrobe. Mattress was ok put pillows were too hard and high. Unfortunately there was too much noise during the night from the AC. Also there was not blackout to prevent lights coming into the room. Bathroom was small and shower had low pressure and on the second night there was not enough water to shower.
The owners were polite and gently.

Read moreI stayed at Dar Saida in El Kef, Tunisia, and it was a fantastic experience. The house is in a great spot, easy to get to and close to everything you need. It’s decorated in a traditional Tunisian style that feels very special and real.
The owners of the house are incredibly kind and welcoming. They treat you like you’re part of their family, which is really nice. The food is a highlight – it’s all traditional Tunisian dishes that taste amazing and freshly cooked by the owner herself 😃
The rooms give you plenty of space and are kept very clean. Staying there doesn’t just give you a place to sleep, but a real taste of Tunisian life and hospitality.
I’d definitely recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a genuine and comfortable...
