We had a modern, well laid out room that contained a comfortable lounge chair and small table, desk and chair (near charging spots), mini-fridge, very large TV, tea and coffee making facilities and bottles of water. There is good luggage storage spaces with open hanging rack above and a cupboard with safe, all streamlined and looking like a cohesive whole. There are power points with two additional USB points capable of charging even tablets on either side of the bed. Lighting is a combination of recessed and direct lighting controlled by a control panel with clear symbols for the lights and more switches. A nice modern ambience. The bathroom is also well laid out with clear lines and a wide sink with storage racks underneath. The shower has both a hand-held and a rain shower with the tap controls situated away from the spray. Water pressure good and water immediately hot. WIFI was the easiest connection we’ve had so far.||Our room looked over the sea and we could see across the Dardanelles Strait to Europe from our window. The hotel key will let you through the gate near the pool to the seaside walk which leads to a park commemorating the sinking of a Turkish battleship. You can also walk to the nearby large 5MMignos supermarket. The bar on the 8th floor had a terrace with sea and land views and you can see the sun set over Europe from there if the angle from your room isn’t optimum. The bar staff were very friendly. Buffet breakfast had hot foods, cereals, yogurts, salads, pastries and bread, juice and coffee. It was probably not as extensive as some other buffets we experienced but the hot food were hot not lukewarm-warm. We also ate a buffet dinner there with a range of mostly western type main meals but some Turkish specialities and a good...
Read moreThis is NOT a 5 star hotel. 5 star hotels attend to every detail and make sure everything is perfect and if it’s not they fix it right away. This hotel is in a good location and has terrific sea views. Cleanliness level is also very good. Issues are: ROOM TEMPERATURE WAS TOO HOT and couldn’t be fixed (look at other reviews, this is clearly an ongoing problem), it’s too hot to sleep. The internet is HORRIBLE!! Bathroom amenities are ridiculous (soap so small you couldn’t get it to lather). Again, look at other reviews. They will answer my review and say how much they appreciate my feedback to make themselves better but that is obviously a canned response because these issues have been a problem for a long time. I won’t ever stay here again because I need descent internet and when I stay in a hotel I mostly NEED TO BE ABLE SLEEP!! It’s a shame because if they fixed these issues it would be a very nice hotel. And unbelievably I just got up, got dressed and left the room (6:30am) so I could go downstairs and get cool and I couldn’t believe my eyes. They have opened the doors to the common areas and lobby and it’s even hotter this morning than it was last night. It’s 6:37am and I’m sitting in the lounge in a full sweat from the heat. I will never come...
Read moreThis is the most decorated and at the same time the most inconvenient hotel I stayed at during my recent trip to Turkey. The hotel itself looks luxurious, but under this luxurious look you have a total failure to design it with comfort in mind. They have a central heat or cooling unit for the entire hotel. This means that if the heating system is on, it doesn't really matter how you select your in room temperature control, only the hot air will be blowing inside the room. The same story with cooling. I had a misfortune to stay when the central heating system was on. To my complaint that it is too hot in my room they only suggested that I turn the thermostat completely off, since it only makes the room hotter and open windows. You can only crack open windows from their lower side and it did not help with cooling the room at all. As a result we had to sleep in the room heated to 27C/80F degrees at the "5-star" hotel. If you ask me, I'd rather stay at the 3 star motel, but with the fully functioning temperature control. Talking about food in their buffet: it is rather tasteless which came as a surprise to me because overall I love Turkish cuisine. Bottomline: this looks like a 5-star hotel, but it is not. I cannot...
